The ancient city of yu zhou was built in the second year of Elephant in the Northern Zhou Dynasty, and rebuilt in the tenth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty. The ancient city is 13 steps in the seventh week, with a wall of three feet and five feet high, three gates, four watchtowers, twenty-four watchtowers and more than 1,1 battlements. The east gate is Andingmen, the building is Jingyang Building, the south gate is Jingxianmen, the building is Wanshan Building, the west gate is Qingyuan Gate, the building is Guangyun Building, and there are five rooms on the third floor, each with three floors. There are tall and magnificent urn city and moon city outside the three doors, a moat with a depth of more than three feet and a width of more than seven feet outside the city, and three gates outside the three doors, namely Dongguan, Nanguan and Xiguan. Jade Emperor Pavilion, Nan 'an Temple Tower and Shijia Temple are built in the city. These ancient buildings, with the architectural styles of Liao, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties and reflecting the different cultural characteristics of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, have become famous historical and cultural cities in Hebei Province.
yu zhou Castle
The ancient buildings in Yuxian are mainly ancient castles, temples, theaters and ancient houses. In ancient times, there was a saying of "eight hundred villages and castles". Where there is a village, there is a castle, and when you see a castle, it is a village, with a large number and wide distribution. The number of temples, palaces, temples, courtyards, temples, shrines and pagodas in Yuxian ranks first in Hebei Province. The ancient temples that concentrated the Liao, Yuan, Ming, Qing and folk years have the characteristics of complete variety, unique structure and exquisite painting. For every village and castle in the territory, there is an ancient theater with various forms and complete types. Ancient dwellings are a combination of folklore, aesthetics, architecture and sculpture, and can be seen in quadrangles, four-in-one suites and nine-in-one courtyards. The West Castle in Nuanquan Town is a collection of ancient houses, temples, castles and theatres, with a urn-shaped structure. There are 18 Ming and Qing style houses in memory, including 5 large circular courtyards and 49 regular quadrangles.
Nan 'an Temple Pagoda
Nan 'an Temple Pagoda is one of the famous cultural relics in Yuxian. In 21, it was announced by the State Council as the fifth batch of key cultural relics protection units in China.
The ancient pagoda is a flat octagonal, solid 13-story brick tower with dense eaves. It is about 32 meters high, and the tower foundation is built in the form of sumeru pedestal with stone bars, with a height of 2.5 meters and a brick tower pedestal on it. The tower is octagonal, with animal heads carved on all sides, and the other four sides are sealed with the word "Fu and Lu".
There is an existing tower courtyard under the tower, which was rebuilt in the 45th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty. The courtyard is about 17.4m wide from east to west and 24m long from north to south. The gate is located on the west side of the tower, which is a hard top with a single eaves, and the bucket arch is a three-step bucket arch with four flowers in front and four in back. The main hall is three rooms wide and two rooms deep, with a single-eave, large-scale hard-mountain tile roof and a three-step arch. There are eight stigma families and 18 body-leveling families, and there is a main meditation room on each side of the main hall. There are two lower meditation rooms in the east and west, both of which are hard-mountain boudoir roofs (which have been rebuilt now), and the Nan 'an Temple Tower is located in the south of the Tayuan.
