Does the Buddha Lotus Lantern need to be on all the time during the day?

There is no regulation on this. Offering lanterns to buddhas and bodhisattvas has countless merits, and of course it can also be offered during the day. It's okay to turn on the lights only at night. However, attention should be paid to the safety of light sources. If the light is overheated, you can turn it off for a while before turning it on.

Basic Buddhist platform decoration requirements:

Keep away from the toilet (close the door at home).

Not in front of the kitchen.

Can't put it on TV, refrigerator, etc. , directly below the air conditioner.

Can not be used in the couple's bedroom (except for the elderly couple's bedroom). The single bedroom can be dedicated, but the end of the bed can't face the Buddha platform.

It can't be used on the balcony protruding from the foundation, but it can be used if it is an indoor balcony.

Any Buddha and Bodhisattva statue, including incense burners and oil lamps, can't be hung, but must be supported by ground objects such as tables, cabinets and racks.

Bodhisattva is best located in a bright place by the window, but it is not advisable to lean against the glass window. The back must be against the wall, and there can be no mirrors around the Buddha platform.

Don't put sundries or other books under the Buddha's platform. Generally, you can put scriptures and instruments. The platform of the Buddha statue can't be too low or too high, it is the position where people stand and look up slightly (if it is too low, you can pad the Buddha statue with a more elegant and solemn box). There should be oil lamps and water (several buddhas and bodhisattvas should have several glasses of water, and the water should be changed once a day, and you should not touch the cup with your mouth).
