The water in Maojiawan raises people in Maojiawan. There are ten large ponds in Maojiawan, including horizontal pond, deep pond, reservoir, kiln pond, small pond, long pond and tuantang, which are distributed in a ladder shape from the foot of Li Xia Mountain to the village. Below these ponds are paddy fields, which are also stepped. As long as there is enough spring water, even if there is drought, it can ensure sufficient irrigation water for crops. In the era of underdeveloped water conservancy tools, it is not necessary to use water trucks to transfer water to high ground, which greatly saves people's labor intensity. In rainy season and flash floods, these ponds also play the role of flood storage and flood control, so that the villages are protected from the impact and inundation of floods and the impact of mudslides. There are many ponds, and drought and flood ensure the harvest. Therefore, the land in Maojiawan is more expensive than gold, and rich people buy land, so the land in Maojiawan has become the first choice. A well in the north of Zhongwan is flush with the field. Well water is sweet and clear, and it doesn't overflow all year round. It is said that the spring eye leads to Mount Emei because reed roots floating in Mount Emei in Sichuan were found in the well.
The mountains in Maojiawan are full of legends. To the north of the village is Li Xiashan, which is located on the south bank of Chaohu Lake. There are mountain arches on the southeast side, 300 meters above sea level, and the top is flat. Legend has it that a race leader of this mountain and a maple tree in Banqiao Shendun (boat-shaped cable village) is about to pierce the sky and disturb the heaven. The Jade Emperor sent Erlang God to coordinate the handling. I didn't know that the mountain and the tree wouldn't give in to each other, so I didn't buy his account. In desperation, Jiro kicked off the gravel mountain in a rage. The top of the mountain moved to Tiejiao Mountain, five miles away. Now you can still see Jiro's huge deep footprints on Tiejiao Mountain. Li Xiashan has a headless neck. Erlang God kicked the maple tree with the other foot, and the tree was kicked in the middle, and its head flew to today's Maple Village. This tree was also marked on the military map in the early days before liberation. In the era of large-scale steel production, it was sawed off from the roots as fuel, leaving only a stump with a diameter of 2 meters silently telling stories and glory. Li Xia is also the throat of Chaohu Lake and Baihu Lake, and it has been a battleground for military strategists since ancient times. 194 1 On March 29th, 2000, Japanese devils invaded Shengjiaqiao, set up headquarters in Xialishan, built bunkers and fortifications, and committed many evils, raped and plundered. However, Maojiawan people used the familiar terrain and skillfully cooperated with the guerrillas led by Zongzi Gao Baichuan, and finally pulled out this stronghold on July 1943. The top of the mountain in Li Xia is covered with rubble, and the trenches are clearly identifiable. At present, a stone tablet stands on the top of the mountain, recording the atrocities committed by the Japanese aggressors in Shengjiaqiao, and Xiali Mountain has also become a patriotic education base for young people.
Maojiawan people advocate learning literature. Martial arts is the tradition of Gaoqia Banqiao people, but the height of Maojiawan is an exception. He only learned some simple routines to keep fit, and his martial arts attainments were not the same as those in Banqiao Village. People in Maojiawan village attach great importance to education and have a prosperous style of writing. There are many generations of people who "enter the official position with talents and honor the world with literature": the genealogy records my great-grandfather's grandfather, that is, I have been a college student in the last five generations. I studied in imperial academy, read a lot of books, wrote good words and articles, and became famous in Shengjiaqiao area, and later generations were no worse than them. And Mr. Jumao in Tongzhi period. He is knowledgeable and learned, and won the first place in Nanjing. Because of his honest and frank personality, he resolutely resigned and returned to his hometown to become a private school teacher. It is said that many fields in the village were named by him, such as Santu Field and Niuyang Map. Unusual words that only he can think of are difficult to write, but vivid and easy to remember. Gao Wenyu was a senator in Taipei during the Republic of China. Gao Wenbao was the first batch of college students in New China in the early days of the People's Republic of China. After the resumption of the college entrance examination, undergraduates, junior college students and secondary school students in Maojiawan have mushroomed, which made the villagers admire.
Maojiawan people also attach importance to business. Several generations have been adhering to the principle of "taking learning as a teacher and taking business as business", and a large number of people have done business abroad and accumulated a lot of wealth. In the late Qing Dynasty, Maojiawan became a civilized and wealthy village far and near, with ten landlords. Every family has several houses. My ancestors came from Nanchang County, Nanchang District, Jiangxi Province, which is very close to Wuyuan. The house is a typical Huizhou architecture with three rafters and small tiles. The gatehouse is tall and majestic, the vestibule rockery pavilions are strewn at random, and the back garden is like spring all the year round. The figures, insects, fish, flowers and birds, eight treasures, Bo Gu and geometric patterns on bricks, wood and stone carvings decorated on door covers, window lintels, beams and beams and window sashes are exquisite in craftsmanship, diverse in forms and realistic in modeling. Residential buildings are surrounded by high walls, which is the so-called "accumulation wall". From a distance, they are like castles, with houses in residential buildings connected together and courtyards connected. Later, the demolished timber was used to build the district government and Sheng Qiao Middle School, leaving only three old houses in my house. Although it has been rock-solid after the wind and rain, my family is reluctant to tear down the new house several times. There are too many stories and emotions in ancestral home. When I retire, I want to live in my old house and relive the happiness and warmth of my childhood. With the reform and opening up, the small houses in Maojiawan are hidden among the green trees, and the hardworking and intelligent Maojiawan people live a happy life like spring breeze.
Maojiawan is the anchorage of Gaojia Banqiao, a warm and calm harbor and a rare land of geomantic omen. I am a boat in the harbor. Although I float out, I will float back eventually.
