Introduction to Zhibo Fortress attractions:

Zhibo Fortress was popular in northwest Sichuan during the Qin and Han Dynasties more than 2,000 years ago The plateau was formed on a large scale during the Sui, Tang and Qing Dynasties when Qianlong conquered the Jinchuan and Jinchuan Periods. Initially they were used to prevent rain, keep livestock, store things and live in them. Later they developed into four categories: chieftain official village blockhouse, boundary blockade, Feng shui blockhouse and war blockhouse. Among them, there are the largest number of battle towers, which are divided into early warning towers, ear towers, and main towers. They are mostly built on traffic arteries, mountain passes, river crossings, or areas with wide views. During war, they are used to burn smoke, fire guns, wave flags, blow horns, etc. Means to call the police and send orders.

In Songgang Township in Malkang, the nearly 30-meter-high Zhibo Watchtower (two towers) and the Songgang Guanzhai Watchtower form a nice scene. Winding rivers and roads lie at their feet. The relatively open terrain makes the watchtowers particularly magnificent.

Zhibo Diaolou is known as the essence of stone architecture. In July 2001, it was included in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. The two watchtowers are distributed in the north and south along the mountain, more than 50 meters apart. It overlooks the Suomo River in the south, Mozugou Valley in the west, and faces Songgang Guanzhai across the river. The Zhibo watchtower is octagonal on the outside and round on the inside. The seven-story South Tower is 29 meters high, and the six-story North Tower is 24.7 meters high. The two towers have sharp edges and corners, and the walls are as smooth as if they were cut. According to research, the Zhibo Fortress was built in the middle of the Qing Dynasty and is still strong today.
