During the two days and one night in Chaozhou, the profound historical stories of this group of archways deeply attracted us. We entered Paifang Street three times, strolled along Paifang Street, followed the crowd to find historical footprints, listened to distant stories in the wind, and followed our footsteps into ancient times. The first time we visited the eight scenic spots and memorial archways in Chaozhou by tricycle, we were shocked by the memorial archways with different shapes. The second time, I entered Paifang Street at night. There is a great contrast between Paifang Street at night and Paifang Street during the day. In the evening, Paifang Street took off its coat made of cement and put on colorful clothes, which were bright and moving. And every place in Paifang Street is dimly lit, and every corner exudes the original ancient style. The third time was to see Paifang Street in the morning. Thinking about Paifang Street, I woke up early. Paifang Street is very quiet in the morning. I approached arch after arch gently, for fear of waking the people inside. I watched it again and again for fear of losing something.
The memorial archway is a story. Chaozhou Paifang Street is said to be a unique cultural landscape in China at present. It is as famous as Guangji Bridge, the four ancient bridges in China, and has become a unique landmark in the world. It is also the largest ancient archway street in China and a key tourist attraction in Chaozhou.
Chaozhou is the political center of eastern Guangdong in history, and it is also the seat of state, road and government administration, with a large number of officials. From the Song Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Chaozhou was full of talented people. It is said that Chaozhou City has 9 1 archway. In April, 2004, Chaozhou City began to restore Chaozhou Paifang Street, and * * * restored 22 ancient archways. Of the 22 archways in Paifang Street, 18 were built in Ming Dynasty 15 17 to 1637, and 4 were built in Qing Dynasty 1736 to 1785, which lasted for 268 years. On the bustling Paifang Street, there are 22 memorial archways, including Champion Square, No.2 Square, Shangshu Square, Zhu Shi Square, Dazong Square, Jin Si Square, Qi Jun Square, 88-year-old scholar Mu Rentian Ruifang, Hakka Jimei Square and Jinbang Lian Fang Square. Walking among them, they listened to one touching story after another.
