In the long history of ancient China, almost every emperor, queen or famous minister was placed in a mausoleum after his death, with a thousand dollars buried with him. There has been a system of human sacrifice since ancient times. Not only that, there will be someone outside the tomb who will be responsible for guarding the tomb, and outsiders are not allowed to get close.
Who is the grave keeper guarding?
The grave keeper, as the name implies, is the person who guards the cemetery. Their main job is to clean graves and weeds. There is also a vigil to prevent tomb raiders and wild animals from invading and destroying at night. However, there is no specific statement about when this profession started.
In Tashi Village, Fanshan Town, Zhuolu County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, there are such a group of people who have lived here for generations. The traffic here is blocked, but the scenery is beautiful and the local people live and work in peace and contentment. After research, archaeologists thought that this place might be the battlefield where Emperor Yan fought against Chiyou, so they formed a team to visit.
Surprisingly, however, the local people have kept silent about the experts' inquiries and showed a strong sense of vigilance. The expert group has repeatedly explained its identity and purpose, and everyone is still hesitant and uneasy about the sudden visit of experts. Such behavior has to make people suspect that this place may really be the battlefield where Emperor Yan attacked Chiyou.
Who is the owner of the tomb?
After many mediations, an old man named Zhou Derui stepped forward. He said that the people in their village are indeed grave keepers, and they are guarding the cemetery of Chiyou, the leader of the ancient Jiuli clan tribal alliance. Their ancestral motto is that men from generation to generation should guard this grave.
This is shocking. In our impression, Chiyou is fierce and ferocious, with such a group of loyal guards. You know, if it's the tomb of Chiyou, it's at least five or six thousand years old. How can they wait here for thousands of years?
Archaeologists are eager to find out, but the villagers here don't want experts to do archaeological research here. After all, from their point of view, this has been their mission for thousands of years and has become a part of their blood. Experts' archaeological research on the cemetery here is tantamount to spiritual aggression. But there are still many discoveries around, and later generations have set up a monument for him here: the tomb of Nan Chiyou. The predecessor of this place has been determined.
A Brief Introduction to Chiyou's Life
At first, Chiyou was only a subordinate of Emperor Yan. Because Emperor Yan was not satisfied with him, Chiyou chose to leave his previous organization and set up his own tribe. He has 8 1 brothers, all of whom are the qualities of the hero SHEN WOO. More historical records show that they defeated Emperor Yan together.
The two fought again, and Emperor Yan and Huangdi joined hands to slay Chiyou. Excellent people always attract each other. After the Yellow Emperor beheaded Chiyou, he was named the "Lord of Soldiers" and injected into history as a god of war.
The battle between the Yellow Emperor and Chiyou is often compared to the contest between dawn and darkness. People have begun to make the image of Chiyou very fierce, saying that he has three heads and six arms and is invulnerable. In fact, the winner is king and the loser is the enemy. This is just the truth. We don't need to delve into Chiyou's crimes, but Chiyou's contribution to the Chinese nation is unprecedented.
The Jiuli clan tribe led by Chiyou settled in the Central Plains and led the local people to live a quiet and comfortable life. He has been farming and smelting copper and iron. He made good use of sages, was brave and good at fighting, made bows and arrows, bronzes and pottery, and invented the culture of words and music. He was the first person to formulate detailed laws and regulations in ancient China, which laid the foundation for the development of China for thousands of years.

We often say that everything has two sides, and so do people. Chiyou is a tyrannical genius, but his status is different, and his defeat can only end in misery. But in the evaluation of later generations, everyone respects his courage and strategy, and his contribution shines in the long river of history. As the ancient history becomes clearer tomorrow, there will be more and more arguments about him.
