Changwu Town is an ancient cultural town with a long history. It was founded in 191 and is the seat of the former Zhaodong County Office. Changwu Town is located in the hinterland of Songnen Plain, 32 kilometers west of Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province. Located in the central areas of Harbin and Daqing, it is 9km away from Harbin in the south and 75km away from Daqing in the north. Five national highways, provincial highways and oilfield roads, such as Harbin, Suiyuan, Changtong, Zhaochang and Changchao, cross the town, extending in all directions. It is the transportation hub, business center and material distribution center of four surrounding counties (urban areas) and ten townships (towns), and is the western part of Zhaodong City.
