Wuhan Feng Shui丨Taming the Yangtze River Dragon

Wuhan, also known as "River City", is not only a good name given by the "Poetic Immortal" Li Bai, but the main reason is that the river here is so awesome!

Wuhan occupies the second of the four famous rivers in China, "Jianghuai River and Han Dynasty"! The name "River City" is well deserved ~ and Wuhan is located at the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Han River.

In terms of Feng Shui, it can be said that Wuhan is a "Feng Shui treasure land" formed by the intersection of two water dragons.

"Dragon" is a word that often appears in Feng Shui, such as Lailong, Mountain Dragon, Water Dragon... The "Dragon" here refers more to power. The movement of mountains is called mountain dragon, and the movement of rivers is called water dragon.

In ancient times, the two major water dragons, the Yangtze River and the Han River, were only really useful to Wuhan. The only one that was really useful to Wuhan was the Han River, while the Yangtze River had one meter of "useless" ribs.

The reason is that the Yangtze River is a big water dragon, and the evil spirit attached to it is also very large! One of the reasons for the formation of evil spirits in rivers is the flow rate of water. The greater the flow speed, the heavier the evil spirits. The Yangtze River is the river with the largest runoff in China. The amount of water and the speed of flow are so large that small rivers cannot compare with it.

Just imagine, there is a rapids next to where you live. Is this suitable for people to live? In the final analysis, Feng Shui is the knowledge of people and the environment. If the environment is not suitable for people to live in, it is not good Feng Shui.

Therefore, the development of Wuhan in ancient times was not dependent on the Yangtze River, but on another water dragon - the Han River.

Compared to the Yangtze River, the evil aura of the Han River is definitely not that strong. In addition, when the two water dragons meet, because the Han River is far smaller than the Yangtze River, the Dragon Qi knot will be on the west side of the Yangtze River.

To use an analogy, if an 80-pound thin man rushes towards a 400-pound fat man, the thin man will only be bounced back. The same is true for the small Han River and the large Yangtze River.

Of course, these rebounded or trapped dragon energy will be at the confluence of the two rivers, especially on this side of the Han River, especially the famous Wuhan mountain at the confluence of the two rivers - Turtle Mountain.

In other words, from the perspective of the two major rivers, in ancient times, the Feng Shui in Hankou and Hanyang was better than that in Wuchang.

Hankou, which has been known as "the most prosperous place in central Chu" since ancient times, can be classified as one of the "Four Famous Towns" and is the first of the "Four Gatherings in the World". Part of the reasons for Feng Shui are this.

The geographical features of Greater Wuhan, where two rivers converge, are actually very similar to another place in my country, that is - Greater Shanghai.

Shanghai Puxi developed earlier than Pudong, and the reasons for Feng Shui are similar to those in Wuhan.

The Feng Shui of Wuchang, located on the east side of the Yangtze River, is certainly not bad. After all, there are many lakes (water dragons) nearby. However, if the Feng Shui pattern of Wuchang, or Wuhan as a whole, is to be successful, it must be in This Yangtze River dragon works hard!

I mentioned a famous mountain in Wuhan called "Guishan" above. There is also a mystery behind this mountain.

The name "Guishan" comes from a legend. It is said that when Dayu was controlling floods, he got a spirit turtle and subdued the water monster in Wuhan. Later, the spirit turtle turned into a mountain, which is now Guishan. .

In Feng Shui, the meaning of the turtle is that it can absorb water. The role of Guishan is to absorb the water dragon energy (water is wealth) at the intersection. Similar to the spirit turtle, there is also the fortune toad.

Looking at Guishan across the sea in Wuchang, I definitely feel bad, but I can’t call the mountain here Guishan, it will make me look inferior.

So, Wuchang focused on a hill just across the sea from Guishan. This hill was originally named Jiangxia Mountain, but was later renamed Snake Mountain.

Since "Spirit Turtle" has been used, let's use something more awesome than it, Xuanwu. Among the four divine beasts, turtle and snake form Xuanwu.

The role of Xuanwu is not comparable to that of turtles. Guishan and Snake Mountains straddling both sides of the Yangtze River form the "Xuanwu Formation". Its function is to lock the water dragon and lock this river. The Yangtze River Canyon!

In Feng Shui, this is called "calling the shape and drinking the image", which means that giving something a specific meaning can play a specific role.

This statement cannot be explained scientifically for the time being. Of course, it is only temporary. But personally, I feel that, at the very least, there will be a hint in my heart.

This is just like if you are often called fat, then even if you are not fat, it is very likely that you will be fat in the future...

As for whether this formation can lock the sky, I Look, not necessarily. However, the Feng Shui of the new era must have tamed this Yangtze River dragon to a certain extent!

In ancient times, the most common way to lock water dragons was not to build a "Xuanwu Formation", but to build bridges. It's just that with the bridge-building technology of the ancients, if you want to build a bridge on the Yangtze River, it will undoubtedly reach the sky. However, with the development of the times, the giant dragon of the Yangtze River will eventually succumb to our great China.

After the founding of New China, the first five-year plan was to build a bridge across the Yangtze River. But where should this bridge be built?

To kill a snake, you need to strike seven inches, and the same goes for training a dragon. Of course, you have to find its weak point to attack. There is no doubt that it must be the dragon locking point of the snake and turtle formation! As a result, between Guishan Mountain and Snake Mountain, facing each other across the sea, the first bridge across the Yangtze River slowly rose! The first bridge on the Yangtze River for thousands of miles is one of the landmarks of Wuhan - Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge.

However, is the saying "water-locking dragon" really useful?

The ancients "built bridges to lock the water dragons" because the bridges at that time had many piers and were thick, so the water flow rate would slow down and the evil spirits would also be reduced, so they could "lock the water dragons" .

It is difficult to say whether the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge's bridge frame can reduce the flow speed. After all, there is another more awesome project on the Yangtze River~

But this bridge is more important. Yes, the people on both sides of the Yangtze River in Wuhan finally "crossed" this natural chasm! (The mountain dragon in Wuhan is also connected casually)

"Building a bridge to lock the water dragon" is described in Feng Shui as the Yangtze River water dragon was struck by the bridge as a "big stick", resulting in The dragon energy stayed near the bridge, and the nearby area became prosperous due to the dragon energy. One of the reasons must be "the road is open and all industries are prosperous"!

One of the reasons why Pudong has developed so rapidly is that the Nanpu Bridge and Yangpu Bridge across the Huangpu River connect Puxi and Pudong!

It is precisely because of the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge that Wuhan’s Feng Shui pattern has achieved great success, or in other words, Wuhan’s development has taken a big step forward.

This ends Wuhan’s account of taming the giant dragon of the Yangtze River. Feng Shui can be said to be superstitious, but not entirely. Nor can it be said that it is entirely correct. But what is clear is that Feng Shui has been passed down for thousands of years, and it must have its rationality. It is just that the times are different and the way of expression is different.

What we Chinese people can do is to remove bad things from Feng Shui and keep pace with the times. The inheritance of traditional culture still needs a little more effort.
