Folklore of Huzhuang Town

The legend of "Xue Jiafen" in Huzhuang

It is said that during the Tongzhi period, there was a Feng Shui master in the south named Guo Tieshi. He was quite famous in the world and traveled around to look after people's homes. Tu, he has cultivated his immortal energy for many years. One day, I visited the boundary of Huzhuang and saw a mound at the foot of the main entrance slope of Qinglong Mountain Yaowang Temple. It was about several feet high and neatly arranged on all sides. There were no weeds growing on the mound. Based on his many years of cultivation, he could tell that the earth's aura was thick and golden, and it was the land of dragon veins. So Guo Tieshi went to a nearby house with a rooster and bought three eggs. He asked a cowherd boy to bury the eggs in a mound and told him not to reveal the secret. Then Guo Tieshi walked to the back of Qinglong Mountain, chanted a spell, and stamped his feet three times. If the eggs can hatch out chicks after doing the method, then there must be dragon veins in this mound. Unexpectedly, the shepherd boy did not follow Guo Tieshi's instructions. He took the eggs home and told his mother. His mother took out three rotten eggs and asked the shepherd boy to bury them in the dirt. It turned out that the family's surname was Xue, and an elder in the family was terminally ill. Mr. Xue thought that since the Feng Shui master valued this mound, it must be a treasure land of Feng Shui. When the elder in the family passes away in the future, this treasure land will be used as an ancestral grave. , the descendants of the Xue family will surely be rich and powerful. Therefore, Xue deliberately sabotaged Guo Tieshi's spellcasting. Guo Tieshi didn't know that Xue was cheating on the eggs. He came down from the back mountain and was disappointed when he saw that no chicks hatched from the mound of soil.

Three years later, Guo Tieshi came here again and saw that the mound had been turned into a tomb. The people called it the "Xue family tomb". After asking about it, he found out that the Xue family was the one who herded cattle back then. The little shepherd boy's house. Guo Tieshi was full of regrets and thought: He must never let the Xue family have a real dragon emperor. So he sold his property and invested money to dig two large wells (longan) side by side on Huzhuang East Street to hold down the dragon's head. The common people called him "Shuangjingzi". He also dug a big well on Huzhuang West Street to hold down the dragon's tail. The common people called him Lao Ma. Along the edge of the well, two stone tablets were erected in Yaowang Temple to suppress the dragon's body. In this way, the dragon vein of the Xue family tomb was broken. Before leaving, Guo Tieshi told the people of Huzhuang that the place could be dug but not filled, otherwise the people would suffer from war. After that, the soil in the Xue family tomb became less and less day by day. Finally, all the mounds of soil were dug out, and the Xue family tomb ceased to exist. It is said that an actor came out of the Xue family who specialized in playing the role of emperor.

This is the origin of the legendary Xuejia Tomb in Huzhuang.
