As early as ancient times, people thought that placing nails could enhance the function of geomantic omen. Nailing a feng shui grave is usually considered as a symbol of luck. This is also to bless the prosperity of the descendants of the family, and to prevent evil forces from flowing into the family. Therefore, at the funeral of family members, relatives and friends traditionally nail the grave to express their deep memory and blessings for their deceased relatives.
In the traditional folk culture of China, nailing is regarded as a sacred ceremony. For the sake of future generations of the family, I would like to take this opportunity to wish the family peace and prosperity. The number, position, size and shape of nails have certain rules. The way of nailing in villas and public buildings may be different from that in graves. In a word, the placement of nails depends on people's belief in Feng Shui and their expectations for the safety of family descendants.
