1, Overview of University Town
Guangzhou University Town is located in the southeast of Guangzhou. Located at Xiaoguwei Island and its south bank in Panyu, it is connected to Luoxi Island in the west, Biological Island in the north and cheung chau island in the east. Looking up at Pazhou Island, the planned area is 43.3 square kilometers. It is about 17km away from Guangzhou downtown, 13km away from Shiqiao and 17km away from Guangzhou New Town.
Guangzhou University Town is a first-class university park in China, a center for training senior talents and scientific research exchange in South China, and a new city with integrated development of "learning, research and production".
Guangzhou University Town is located in the position of Guangzhou's urban development plan "expanding from south to east". In terms of urban spatial development, its location is just on the axis of Guangzhou's southward expansion and in the metropolitan area, which is conducive to achieving good urban functional interaction and improving the comprehensive benefits of Guangzhou's urban construction. In terms of industrial space development, IT is located on the axis of emerging industries in Guangzhou, featuring the IT industry. There are 10 universities in Guangzhou University Town. In September 2004, the first batch of about 45,000 college students took the lead in entering the university town. 2. Guangzhou University Town Museum.
The museum area inherits the construction concept of combining the natural environment and human landscape of the university town, attaches to the unique natural landscape and rich historical and cultural heritage of the area, embodies the regional characteristics of Lingnan in architectural design, and integrates traditional historical and cultural elements into entertainment and leisure.
The museum area of the University Town covers a total area of 16.5 hectares, and more than 80 buildings are planned to be built. Among them, there are 16 historical buildings such as Huo's Grand Ancestral Hall in the village, 16 cultural relics in the relocation island area, and 35 investment buildings.

The first phase of Guangzhou University Town develops Xiaoguwei Island 18 square kilometers. Surrounded by the Pearl River, the island is adjacent to Luoxi Island in the west, Biological Island in the north and cheung chau island in the east, and faces Pazhou Island, where the convention and exhibition center is located, across the river, with natural relative independence. The landform of Xiaoguwei Island is low hilly alluvial plain with picturesque scenery and numerous cultural relics. For a long time before, there was no bridge connecting the island and Guangzhou, and it was only by ferry. The museum area is located in Lianxi Ancient Village at the southernmost tip of Xiaoguwei Island, hidden in the south corner of Guangzhou University Town. Through the transformation of the original residential buildings, a cultural tourist area integrating sightseeing, leisure, entertainment and shopping will be formed, and at the same time, the customs of Lingnan water town, the ancient folk culture of Guangzhou and the construction achievements of Guangzhou University Town will be experienced. Lingnan village features remain intact and the natural environment is unique.
2. Traffic conditions
The museum area is connected to the outer ring of Guangzhou University Town in Xiaoguwei Island in the north, the Li Jiao Waterway in the Pearl River in the south and the South Expressway in the east, which can make full use of the traffic advantages of the expressway and the Pearl River Waterway. Located in convenient transportation, quiet environment and good feng shui, it is almost located in the center of major cities in the Pearl River Delta (Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen, Zhongshan) and has a very advantageous geographical position.
Among them, the external trunk road network of the University Town is: Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway, the north-south traffic trunk line in the middle of Xiaoguwei Island, and the central express line of the city (Nansha Express Line); The main road network of the University Town is connected with Guangzhou and the Pearl River Delta through South China Expressway and ring highway. Among them, the north-south traffic trunk road in the middle of Xiaoguwei Island is one of the important roads connecting "Biological Island-University Town-Guangzhou New Town".
The special subway line of the University Town (namely Pazhou-Xinzao section of Line 4) will pass through the central development corridor of the University Town and set up one subway station in the north and one subway station in the south of Xiaoguwei Island.
University Town has opened 14 bus lines between the island and Guangzhou, two of which pass through the museum area, and with the further development of the museum area, more bus lines will be opened in the museum area in the future. By then, it can be said that "all roads lead to museums".
3. Existing commercial outlets
The existing commercial outlets in Xiaoguwei Island mainly include three parts:

At present, the number of college students in Guangzhou University Town (Xiaoguwei Island) is 45,000, including teachers, their families and logistics personnel. The population of colleges and universities is about 55,000, and the original villagers are about 1 10,000. It is estimated that the peak period of construction personnel will reach 60,000. Together with other floating population, the total population is 10- 15000. After September 2005, the number of college students expanded to 654.38+million, with an estimated total population of 200,000.
According to the planning of Guangzhou University Town, there are 200,000 students, 20,000 teachers and 50,000 employees. According to the empirical data of high-tech parks at home and abroad, the number of employees in high-tech industries is about 30 thousand, and the other unpredictable population is about 50 thousand. After the completion of Guangzhou University Town in 2007, the total population will reach 350,000.
