One view is that building a mausoleum in Gong County is related to the topography, soil and natural resources there. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Song Taizu moved the tomb of his father Zhao (Xuanzu) from southeast Kaifeng to southwest Gongxian in the second year of Gande (964). Because it is located between Zhengzhou and Henan, there is a small room in the south, the Yellow River natural barrier in the north, Qinglong Mountain in the east and the Luoshui River across the county. Excellent soil quality and low water level are suitable for digging deep graves and mining stones nearby. After the site was selected, Song Taizu appointed Prime Minister Fan Ju as the ambassador of Bu 'anling to carry out the relocation of the mausoleum. The form of the mausoleum adopts the old system of Qin and Han Dynasties, and Xuanzuling is called Yong 'an Mausoleum. Since Song Taizu, seven emperors have been buried in this tomb.
From this point of view, one view is that the site selection of Gong County is mainly related to thick burial. Because Gong County belongs to the Loess Plateau, and the water level is extremely deep, it is convenient to dig deep and bury, and build a huge underground palace. Zhao Kuangyin wanted to rebury his father on camera, so it was inevitable to choose this place.
More people believe that the construction of Songling in Gongxian County is related to paying attention to geomantic omen in the early Song Dynasty.
Gongxian County is located in Beijiao Mountain area, which is a treasure land from the perspective of geomantic omen. According to the popular theory of "five tones benefiting surnames" at that time, the rulers of the Northern Song Dynasty designed the tombs from the aspects of site selection, the mutual position between the tomb and the cave, and even the depth of the mausoleum and the underground palace. According to historical records, the Emperor of the Northern Song Dynasty did not build the Shouling in advance before his death, but only chose the mausoleum-repairing ambassador, the mausoleum-repairing deputy ambassador and the mausoleum-repairing supervisor when he died, and chose the cemetery and built the mausoleum according to the theory of Yin and Yang geomantic omen.
In the Northern Song Dynasty, the theory of Yin and Yang Feng Shui prevailed, and they believed in the popular theory of "five tones benefiting surnames" in the Tang Dynasty. They divided people's surnames into five tones: public, business, communication, righteousness and depression, which correspond to the earth, gold, wood, fire and water of yin and yang elements respectively, and found the burial position corresponding to surnames in the geography of yin and yang. The emperor of the Northern Song Dynasty, surnamed Zhao, is a horn sound, which corresponds to the wooden line. Wood dominates the east and yang is in the east, which is called auspicious surface. Therefore, the selected burial site should be high in the southeast and low in the northwest, which requires the landscape conditions of "high mountains and high waters". After many investigations by the royal family in the Northern Song Dynasty, Gong County is surrounded by Baili Qinglong and Shiren Mountain on the left, Baihutan on the right, Shao Shi, Jinniu and Heiyan Mountain in Song Yue in the south, and Luoshui and the Yellow River in the north. The whole terrain is arched, southeast and northwest. In geomantic theory, there is a green dragon on the left, a white tiger on the right, water in the south and mountains in the north, and wealth is constant. Berlin is criss-crossed with mountains. From today's point of view, the east and south mountain walls of the mausoleum stand luxuriantly and misty, while the Luoshui in the north is crystal clear, like a jade belt. As early as March 26th, the second year of the Stegosaurus (96 1), Zhao Kuangyin said in the Mourning Book of Xuanzu Zhaowu to Bu Anling: "To the south of Luozhou, there are songs in the mountains, and the mountains and rivers anger the east of Luoyang. The palace is full of Cui Wei, and the scenery is in the sky. Only the emperor's luck is prosperous, grand and harmonious. "Such a good natural environment is an important reason for the prosperity of the imperial transport.
