Guifeng Pagoda is located in the northwest corner of Guifeng Mountain in Lechang City, Shaoguan City. County-level cultural relics protection units.
According to the records of Guifeng Pagoda, it was built in the 19th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1540). Guifeng Pagoda is located in the center of the county, facing Daduling in the east and Wujiang River in the south, commanding and overlooking the whole city. The original Guifeng Ancient Temple, where the tower was located, was later changed to Guifeng Academy (one of the four academies in Lechang), which contained the Qingxin Pavilion and the brick tower (Guifeng Tower). Legend has it that in ancient times, there was a turtle in the river who often made waves and the river flooded frequently, so the tower was built and locked.
According to the Records of Lechang County, it was built by Zhang Jian, the magistrate of Shaozhou in the 19th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty, which belongs to the county Feng Shui Tower and is one of the eight scenic spots in Lechang County, and it is called' Turtle Stone Swallow Flow'. "Qing Ou Kan Mountain Turtle Swallows Flow" says ... Turtle swallows all the water, and the peak of the pen is inserted into the blue sky and autumn. ……"。
Guifeng Tower is located in the northwest to southeast direction, overlooking the South Tower across the river. Guifeng Tower is a seven-story pavilion-style blue brick and sand structure, with an octagonal plane, a height of 15.9 m, a cross-shaped hollow inner passage, a diameter of 4.58 m, and no steps to climb. The side length of the first floor is 2m, the height is 0.3m, the wall thickness is 1.57m, and the width is 0.57m. There are four arches on the 1-3 floor, and the height is 1.32m, showing a cross-shaped channel. The fake doors on the 4-6 floors are all four staggered decorations. The wooden boards in the tower cavity are rotten and collected in layers without ladders. Multi-storey, corner arch with special-shaped brick animal head, pot cover gourd brake. The specifications of the tower brick are mainly 0.3 1×0. 16×0.06 meters ... the shape is magnificent. 1964, the provincial capital restored the Guifeng Tower intact.
