There are two Ruhe stone bridges in Dongguan and Beiguan of Runing Town, runan county, namely Jimin Bridge and Hongji Bridge. They are all five-hole solid-bellied stone bridges with combined arches, and there are few Ming Dynasty stone bridges in Henan. Jimin Bridge is located at the eastern end of Runing Street in runan county, commonly known as "Dongguan Bridge". It is a large stone bridge across Ruhe River in Ming Dynasty, and it is also the throat of east-west traffic in Runan. According to the records of Runing Mansion, "Jimin Bridge spans the Ruhe River and was originally a wooden bridge. In the 19th year of Chenghua (1483), Qian Yue, the magistrate, began to turn fossils into stones, and Chen Tingguang, the magistrate, rebuilt them in Qin Long. In the sixth year of Chongzhen, the magistrate Huang Xiu and the soldiers were in chaos. In the eighth year of Shunzhi, Tongzhi Gao Chen was rebuilt. " According to the "Ruyang County Reconstruction Rudong Bridge Monument", "The bridge was started in April in the fourth year of Qin Long in the Ming Dynasty (1570) and completed in February in the first year of Wanli (1573)." Hongji Bridge, commonly known as Beiguan Stone Bridge, is located outside the north gate of runan county.
Close to the city wall, it is another large Ming Dynasty stone bridge across the Ruhe River. According to "Rebuilding Runing County Records", "Hongji Bridge-outside the north gate, across the Ruhe River, with wood as its object. In the eighteenth year of Ming Hongzhi (1505), Lei Zong, the magistrate of a county, founded Shiqiao, the Jiajing magistrate Huang Zhongxiu, also known as the bridge. " In the design and construction of these two stone bridges, practical and aesthetic factors are considered. The bridge deck structure can be divided into three layers: bridge stone, Tian Yang stone and bridge deck stone, which are paved with blue strips. There are twenty-six pillars on both sides, and the pillars are engraved with peach-shaped stigmas and stone lions. There are many peach-shaped pillars and few stone lions. Generally speaking, the structures of Ji Min Bridge and Hongji Bridge are basically the same. However, the two bridges are different in structure and artistic design. There is a diversion beast at the diversion tip of the pier of Ji Min Bridge, so there is no need to build two walls with blue bricks in the cavity. The railing of the bridge is composed of two bluestone slabs. The stigma of the watchtower is mainly peach-shaped, and the carving of the railing is mainly animals and flowers, with other decorative patterns as a foil. However, the Hongji Bridge is not carved on the diversion tip of the pier, but made of sand and stone, and the two walls in the rectangular cavity are inlaid with blue bricks. The bridge railing is made of a green slate. The stigma of the watchtower is mainly lion and sumeru, and the railing carving is mainly Ji Xiangwen. The bottom of the river is covered with bluestone and gray sand. The two bridges are rigorous in design and exquisite in structure, showing the superb architectural skills of ancient people. Despite a hundred years of vicissitudes, they still stand on the banks of the Ruhe River and still play a role.
