Xinhua News Agency, Guiyang, July 26th (Reporter Liu Zhiqiang, Wu Si) The reporter learned from the Cultural and Sports Tourism Bureau of Xinpu New District Management Committee in Zunyi City, Guizhou Province that a tomb suspected of Yuan Dynasty was recently discovered in Zunyi, Guizhou Province. After preliminary investigation and evaluation by archaeologists, the tomb is suspected to be an ancient tomb of the Yuan Dynasty, and there are about 20 ancient tombs around it, which has high protection value.
It is understood that on July 15, in the vehicle management office of Tikan Formation, Hongqi Village, Xia Zi Town, Xinpu New District, Zunyi City, the construction unit dug up a batch of processed boulders during the construction process. Later, the workers found that the place where the boulder was dug was a two-hole stone tomb, one of which had a well-preserved stone carving pattern on the back and a niche on one side.
According to the preliminary investigation by archaeologists, the stone carving patterns have obvious characteristics of Yuan Dynasty style, and archaeologists have found many stone tombs within less than 1 000 square meters around the tombs. It can be inferred that this is a relatively high-level ancient tomb group.
At present, the construction unit of the construction project has suspended the construction in the tomb discovery area, and the Guizhou Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and the local cultural relics department have begun to formulate rescue cleaning, excavation and protection plans for the discovered tombs.
