In addition, the crab gills of hermit crabs can't be eaten, because these two parts are easy to carry dirty things such as bacteria and viruses. If eaten, it will affect people's health.

The heart, stomach and intestines of hermit crabs are also inedible, because these parts may contain sediments or taste bad.

Preservation method of hermit crab

1. Put the hermit crab in the refrigerator. The number of hermit crabs purchased is small, and it is relatively simple to raise them after eating for about three days. Choose energetic hermit crabs, bind their feet to reduce the physical consumption of hermit crabs, then put them in the freezer of the refrigerator, keep the temperature at 5-10, and cover them with wet towels for preservation.

2. Choose vigorous hermit crabs, prepare a plastic bucket/basin with a height of 30-50 cm, and put the crabs in it without stacking them; Then add water to half the height of the hermit crab, mainly to keep it moist. You can't bury all the hermit crabs, because you are unlikely to have aerobic equipment. If the water is too deep, hermit crabs will suffocate due to lack of oxygen.

Don't cover the bucket/basin, check the hermit crabs every day, and eat the hermit crabs with insufficient vitality in time. Yangcheng Lake crabs are preserved in this way. Hermit crabs can be stored for more than 5 days at low temperature.
