Menyuan Hui Autonomous County is the birthplace of small rapeseed in the north, and it is also the largest small rapeseed planting area in China and even in the world, with a planting area of 500,000 mu. The planting range of rape flowers here starts from Qingshizui on the Haomen River in the west, Yulong Beach on the Datong River in the east, Lenglongling on the border with Gansu Province in the north and Dabanshan in the south, stretching for dozens of kilometers.
Rape flowers are not unusual, but they are everywhere, but the rape flowers in Menyuan are spectacular, with Qilian Mountain in the north, Yong 'an City in the west, Yulong Beach in the east and Daban Mountain in the south, which stretches for hundreds of kilometers, just like a golden ocean. Rich yellow flowers, along the Haomen River, cross the Menyuan Basin 100 km. Under the deep blue sky of the plateau, they are in harmony with the distant mountains and villages, and they are beautiful from near to far.
Because the fields are mostly tilted in the direction of the mighty river, standing on the riverbank and looking to both sides, it is overwhelming with golden color and boundless. The Haomen River flows in the middle, and this kind of scenery is like a silver belt with two gilts winding and dancing, reflecting the Qilian Mountain in the distance. Against the common blue sky and white clouds on the plateau, the endless golden color is extremely beautiful and sad, and the simple composition of large color blocks gives people rich reverie.
