The establishment of Huangqi Temple has a widespread folklore in Dongguan: Lai Buyi, a famous geomancer in Jiangxi Province, explored a treasure trove for Dongguan. When I wiped my eyes, the woman was gone. Lai Buyi just realized that this woman is avalokitesvara. Lai Buyi went back to me. People heard that this is the treasure house of Guanyin. Who dares to fight for it? Guanyin Temple was built here. Huangqi ancient temple should be built in Huizong period of Northern Song Dynasty.
There is a stone tablet in the temple: "Bao 'an Blessed Land". The reason is that in the Sui Dynasty, there was Baoshan (in the Yellow River) in Dongguan, named Baoan County (including today's Shenzhen City). In other words, Guanyin Temple in Huangqi is a paradise for people in Dongguan and Shenzhen today. Therefore, every Chinese New Year holiday, pilgrims here are like clouds.
Huangqi Temple has been rebuilt from generation to generation, and it has been well preserved since the Song Dynasty. It is a rare place of interest in Dongguan.
