What are the superstitious behaviors in China?

Some problems are difficult to explain by science, such as children being frightened. For example, when I was at school, I suddenly fell ill and went to the hospital to see a doctor. I can't see it clearly at all. It doesn't work at all. After two or three weeks, I suddenly got better. I was surprised at the time. As the saying goes, illness goes away like spinning, but when the disease is treated, it has no effect, but suddenly it gets better. It was a few days before my parents told me that my grandmother treated me in my hometown in the countryside.

Complaining is one thing: if the dead relatives are short of money in the underworld, they will haunt the living, and the living will get sick and it will be difficult to treat. When people are sick, they will go to the hospital to see a doctor. If the treatment doesn't work, people will think that they may be accused by someone who can "shake up their grievances". At this time, people will find someone who can "shake their grievances". Those who can "shake up their grievances" first take a mirror, put it flat, and have a copper coin. First, they read a passage in front of the mirror. The function is to let the deceased relatives know that the deceased has visited him, and then read out the names of relatives close to the sick person. After each name is read, the copper coin will stand on the mirror. If not, copper coins will fall. If it is, the copper coin will be established, so all the names will be read three times. After that, I will burn paper for this relative. After burning, the disease will be cured. My relatives are from my grandmother's side. My grandmother's house is more than 70 miles away from my grandmother's house. My grandmother said, no matter how far the paper burns, just burn it in that direction.

I am also a highly educated person who knows "believe in science and oppose superstition". I think this statement is too absolute from the beginning of this incident. My family is in Yantai, and the countryside is also very rich, so there are no superstitious activities. My grandmother is an ordinary person, not a so-called' witch', and she doesn't accept money from' complaining', but the copper coin was really made after reading the name of that person, and she didn't tell me before. I didn't know until almost a week later, so there was no psychological hint. After getting sick, the treatment didn't have any effect, but it got better immediately after "complaining". None of this can be explained by science.

I think science is the product of western culture, while eastern culture has a longer history, and they are not going the same way. In recent hundreds of years, western culture has developed rapidly for various reasons, while eastern culture has regressed or even lost, and some bad aspects have been used. It is normal that people are only educated by western culture and do not recognize it. The biggest difference between western culture and China is that it can be quantified, easy to spread and learn, so that people can understand from numbers and be accepted more easily. I study engineering, and I can't speak it well. Family words are for reference only.
