Shi Qiaocun, located in the north of Danzhai County, Guizhou Province, is named after a natural stone arch bridge connecting cliffs on both sides. The whole village, from 16-year-old boys to 70-year-old people, can make paper in the old way. Shi Qiaocun mainly produces colored coated paper packed in white cartons, especially colored handmade paper, which is unique in China. Its papermaking technology is a well-preserved "living fossil" of papermaking at present.
Although Shi Qiaocun has been making paper for generations, the Nangao River around the village is still crystal clear, with lush bamboo on the hillside, just like a rolling sea of bamboo, which is very spectacular.
