Morning tour of Jiangnan Great Wall (Taizhou City Wall)

On Saturday morning, I took exercise to climb the Great Wall in the south of the Yangtze River. At half past six, I swept a bus on Xia Qiao Road and set off. Sapindus muppets on Xia Qiao Road are luxuriant, and green fruits emerge from needle-like leaves. Walking down this street every day, I don't know if I have seen the blossoming Sapindus mukoraiensis. The camphor trees on both sides of binjiang road Greenway are covered with green fruits, and the tall trunks are intertwined in the sky, creating a cool tree-lined path for people walking and cycling. I was deeply impressed by the rich fragrance of Cinnamomum camphora when it bloomed.

I returned the car at the parking spot in longxing temple and climbed the ancient city wall from the entrance of Xingshanmen before 7 o'clock. The outer wall of the city wall is covered with Ficus pumila, and many unknown grasses emerge from the cracks in the city bricks and grow wantonly, adding a bit of vitality to the vicissitudes of the city wall. On the steps, brightly colored millipedes waded casually, straight, S-shaped and 2-shaped. When I gently touched it with leaves, it immediately moved its Mao Mao feet and crawled slowly.

I walked a flat slope, then climbed an uphill step, and I arrived at Meiyuan. Meiyuan is the original site of the ancient Taizhou official garden. Now it covers an area of six or seven acres. More than 200 plum trees have been planted on the mountain, including more than a dozen varieties such as Xuelihong, Gongfen and Green Calyx. This is the season when plum trees grow leaves. They look green. When the plum blossoms are in full bloom, there are colorful and fragrant here. Speaking of "fragrant", this is someone else's description. I have never smelled the fragrance of plum blossoms. Maybe there are many people who have mixed feelings every time they enjoy the plum blossom. My keen sense of smell can't smell the delicate fragrance of plum blossoms. The next time plum blossoms are in full bloom, you must come and smell the fragrance quietly in the morning when no one is around.

In Meiyuan, I met a donkey friend who climbed a mountain outdoors. She climbed the ancient city wall from the Land Rover Range Rover at 6 o'clock, ran forward, her forehead was full of sweat, and she greeted me with a smile. I really envy this woman in her fifties for having such a well-proportioned figure and such a youthful smile. I secretly sigh people's perseverance in long-term exercise and self-discipline in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Walking on the vicissitudes of the ancient city wall, accompanied by melodious classical music, the ancient trees on the edge of the city wall are dense and birds are singing. On the way, I passed several two-story hollow enemy platforms and several cannons. I sometimes climb the hollow enemy platform on the second floor to see the scenery of Lingjiang River and the ancient city, sometimes sit on the turret and blow a cool breeze, and sometimes stop at the sign to learn about the history of the construction and repair of the Great Wall and the story introduction of cultural relics and celebrities in the ancient city. Taizhou City Wall (Jiangnan Great Wall), built in Jin Dynasty, Sui and Tang Dynasties, has a history of 1500 years. Wang Shixing, a geographer in the Ming Dynasty, wrote: "Eleven counties and cities in Zhejiang are the most dangerous. There are only five in the southwest facing the big river, and the rocks in the northwest are inserted into the sky, although there are no bird paths." The images of "rock inserted into the sky" and "no bird road" depict the danger of Gubei Mountain. The ancient city wall of Taizhou Prefecture, with a circumference of 6 kilometers, is adjacent to East Lake in the east, Lingjiang River in the south, and hung on the top of Gu Bei Mountain in the west and north, guarding Taizhou Prefecture like an iron bucket.

Go to Gulong to see the Tiantai, which used to be called the Temple of Heaven. This used to be the place where Fang Guozhen rebelled against the Yuan Dynasty at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and proclaimed himself in Linhai. Later, it was said that Qi of the Qing Dynasty had observed astronomical phenomena here, and he became a "lookout on the rooftop". The watchtower is three stories high, and the stone fences around it are carved with exquisite patterns. The number of stone steps and fence boards on each floor is a multiple of nine and nine. The circular building is magnificent, exquisite and delicate, and every detail implies the ancient concept of Feng Shui. It's interesting to stand in the center of the top floor and talk or sing loudly. On a starry night, if you can sit here and look up at the empty starry sky, you will naturally have a unique charm.

Walking along the city wall from the watchtower, I saw one or two sanitation workers sweeping the fallen leaves. There are five female sika deer and one male sika deer in the sika deer farm. The female sika deer of the breeder is very funny. Several Great Wall inspectors are joking with the breeder: Be careful and stop flirting like that. Don't treat nearby male sika deer as if they don't exist. It will push you with its horns. It is said that the male sika deer is fierce and often needs a keeper.

When I arrived at the Chenghuang Temple, I saw the courtyard towering in the shade and very quiet. An ancient camphor tree, 1400 years old, began in the Sui Dynasty. It was struck by lightning and cut off most of it. Now it is still lush, with green leaves and strong roots. Some plants have strong vitality.

Stop-and-go, I easily reached the Baiyun Tower, the highest point of the Great Wall in the south of the Yangtze River, and walked down the steepest steps of the whole Great Wall. It is said that Weichi Gong, the general of the Tang Dynasty, was ordered to build the city wall, which was destroyed several times because of the steep terrain. One morning, a sika deer ran along the ridge, leaving footprints, so he ordered the construction along the footprints, which actually succeeded. From then on, Linhai was called "Lucheng", and the initial reputation of Lucheng in Linhai came from this.

Take the next hundred steps to the Range Rover Gate, next to the Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall. Every time I come back here, I will have a good look at the statue of Qi Jiguang, a national hero, wearing armor, with her hands akimbo and a sword pinned to her waist. She is a hero and always looks new.

I took a nap at Range Rover Gate, climbed down the "Hero Slope" of 198 steps, and got off the ancient city wall at the exit of Range Rover Gate. At 9 o'clock, I swept a bike and rode home. It took me two hours to easily walk the whole journey of the Great Wall in the south of the Yangtze River. It was perfect.
