Longmen Island is the largest island among the Longmen Islands in Qinzhou City, with an area of about 10 square kilometers. Longmen Town is located with a population of more than 9,000 people, most of whom make a living by fishing. This is a famous fishing village. Longmen Island, located at the exit of Maoweihai, is the gateway for water to enter and leave Qinzhou. Because the mountain is like a dragon winding from west to east, the left and right sides of the front screen are facing each other like doors, and the Maoweihai meets the exit of Qinzhou Inner Bay, hence the name "Longmen". Longmen Island is one of the largest fishery production bases along the coast of Guangxi, and it is also a battleground for military strategists in past dynasties. Therefore, it is known as a national defense center: since the Ming Dynasty, there have been forts built here to defend against foreign enemies; Moreover, you can also see the remains left by the Anti-Japanese War. The high-rise building on the island is called the "General Building", which was the command post of the former commander of Guangzhou Defense Agency, Lieutenant General Shen Baofan, and is now well preserved. Climbing to the top of the building, the scenery of water, mountains and islands is unobstructed. At night, fishing boats are scattered all over the sea, which is quite poetic. In the 1960s, Longmen Island was connected with the land through a dike, and cars could pass. Longmen Island can be connected with the mainland, and the traffic is very convenient.
