The History and Culture of Huangdong Village

In Huangdongli Village, there are people with surnames such as Zhou, Xiao, Xu and Zhuo. They once lived in Xiaowu, Tian Xin, Baishikeng and other places. In the late Ming and Qing Dynasties, surnames such as He, Liu, Zhang, Xie, Zheng, Cai, Zeng, Shen, Lin, Peng, Hong, Huang and Chen moved in one after another. Historically, the geographical location of Huangdong Village was relatively closed, and it was less influenced by the outside world. Hakka culture was well preserved, and Hakka folk customs and traditional habits were well followed. Up to now, there are still 15 watchtowers built in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, as well as many Hakka houses with unique styles. In particular, the new wall Hakka dwellings in Tian Xin Village Group are well preserved, and the geomantic pattern of the back mountain and the water is basically not destroyed when the village is built, and the surrounding environment is beautiful.
