2. South Shaolin Temple, formerly known as Linquan Temple, was founded in the Yongding period of the Southern Dynasty (577) and was built by Emperor Taizong. South Shaolin's boxing methods include "36 treasures" and "28 heming". The temple is listed as one of the 24 scenic spots in Putian. South Shaolin Temple, built in the early years of the Southern Dynasties, is the cultural heritage of Zen in China and the birthplace of Shaolin Nanquan. It is said that after the Shaolin Temple 13 monks in Songshan, Henan Province helped Emperor Taizong to unify China, Emperor Taizong gave it to the monks and allowed to build ten sub-temples all over the country.
3. According to research, Linquan Garden in Jiulianshan, Licheng District, Putian City is one of the top ten sub-temples of Shaolin Temple, which was founded earlier. Because of its large scale (covering an area of about 30,000 square meters), its martial arts are at its peak and it affects South China, so it is called South Shaolin Temple. According to textual research, the temple was burned by Qing soldiers in the early Qing Dynasty. Until 1986, archaeologists excavated and discovered the site of South Shaolin Temple. 1989, with the strong support of the government, the reconstruction began.
