It’s called the pillar foundation.
Column foundation: a kind of ancient building component, also commonly known as stone pan, or column foundation stone. It is the foundation stone that withstands the pressure of house columns. All houses with wooden frame structures can be said to have columns. Both are indispensable. In ancient times, in order to prevent floor-to-ceiling house columns from being damp and rotten, a stone pier was added to the column foot to isolate the column foot from the floor and play an absolute moisture-proof role; at the same time, it also strengthened the pressure-bearing pressure of the column base. Therefore, great importance is attached to the use of foundation stones.
The origin of the name of pillar foundation stone
The origin of its name is very early. It is recorded in Mozi's book: "The mountains are steamed with clouds, and the pillar foundation is moist." According to the third volume of the Song Dynasty's construction method: "The pillar foundation has six names, one is the base, the second is the raft, the third is the platform, the fourth is the platform, the fifth is the platform, and the sixth is the platform. Today it is called the stone anchor." In this province, they are called "Zhuzizhu", "Shizhu", "Zhuzhu", etc.
