I have been designing for a few years, and the first two or three years were indeed very hard. Questioned by customers and scolded by leaders. That's how it is in the design industry, where you have to sell white powder and get the money from selling flour.
Design is a very complicated profession. The difficulty of choosing becomes more and more serious after you have been in the industry for a long time. The general symptoms are as follows... This color is okay! This seems to be good, and it feels OK that way. The designer is also an all-rounder, including communication skills, design aesthetics, residential Feng Shui, humanistic customs, construction technology, and on-site management. If you want to be able to chat with customers, knowledge reserves in all aspects are indispensable.
Of course, it is common to work overtime all night to catch up on plans. It often happens that we need to make plans right away the next day. We have to take care of our family and plans, so naturally we will have less hair! ! I often have liver problems, stay up late, eat three irregular meals, and have no days off throughout the year (except during the Chinese New Year). It’s like fighting with your life!
In the eyes of most people, a designer is actually someone who can only draw pictures and knows nothing else. The reason why many customers do not accept the plan actually has a lot to do with the designer's skills. Because there are colorful black and colorful white. (Warm reminder, Party A’s father must pay attention to safety when going out...) Is a drawing really so easy to complete? Whether designers can be recognized in second- and third-tier cities is linked to the overall local development level. Understanding a design plan does require the professional level of the designer, but it also requires the cognitive level of the client. This is why many designers from large factories in first-tier cities are unwilling to do ordinary home decoration design, and the design fee has become a dividing line. If you think that these dozens of drawings will cost thousands or tens of thousands, then you are a low-level customer!
Nowadays, many pure design companies only deal with high-end customers, and do not even look at those with little money. You will say then why can't you do that? Complain all day long about the unfairness of this society.
Design is a very long road, and there are two directions to go in. One is the high-end route of pure design, which is like those who usually engage in art. There is also design + construction, which is the most direct-to-customer approach. More and more old designers are switching careers to other industries. It cannot be said that the industry is in recession, but this industry will eventually move towards the high end and more and more people will be eliminated. If you don’t want to go down the road of pure design, then the designer will end up lonely.
I don’t want to be a designer anymore because designers have no friends. I don’t want to be a designer anymore because designers don’t have time. I don’t want to be a designer anymore because I don’t have the money to spend it. I don’t want to be a stylist anymore because I don’t have much hair anymore. I don’t want to be a designer anymore because my girlfriend won’t let me stay up late.
