Who's Wang Lun?

Wang Lun, whose real name is yi county (Taiping County, Xuanzhou, now Huangshan City, Anhui Province). During the Kaiyuan period of Tang Dynasty, he was the commander-in-chief of Jingxian County, a poet, and a good friend of the famous poet Li Bai.

After leaving office, out of nostalgia for Taohuatan, I moved my family from Yixian to Jingxian and lived next to Taohuatan. From the first year of Tianbao (740) to the first year of Baoying (76 1), Li Bai visited Dangtu, Xuancheng, Jingxian, Qiupu, Nanling and other places in Anhui many times, and visited Taohuatan in Jingxian.

Wang Lun entertained guests with wine and invited Li Bai as a guest. When he left, Li Bai wrote To Wang Lun.

The whole poem is as follows:

Li Bai was just about to leave when he heard a farewell song from the shore.

Even if the Peach Blossom Pond is deep, it is not as deep as Wang Lun's sending away my love.

The translation is as follows:

Li Bai was about to travel by boat when he heard singing on the shore.

Even if the Peach Blossom Lake is as deep as thousands of feet, it can't compare with what Wang Lun did to me.

The first two sentences of this poem describe the scene of Wang Lun seeing Bai off when he was about to leave by boat, and simply and naturally express Wang Lun's sincere feelings for Li Bai. The last two sentences first praise the profundity of the Peach Blossom Pond with "deep thousands of feet", and then turn the intangible friendship into tangible thousands of feet Pond with the word "less than", which vividly expresses Wang Lun's sincere and profound friendship for Li Bai.

Li Bai Tianbao traveled from Guangling and Jinling to Xuancheng in the 13th year (754), so this poem should not be earlier than before.

Extended data:

During the Tianbao period of the Tang Dynasty, Wang Lun heard that Li Bai, a great poet, lived in Li Jiali, an uncle of Nanling, and wrote to invite Li Bai to his home.

The letter said, "How is your husband? There are miles of peach blossoms here. How about your drink, sir? There are Wanjia Hotels here. " Li Bai is a good drinker. He smells such beautiful scenery and is glad to be invited, but he didn't see the magnificent scenery mentioned in the letter.

Wang Lun was hospitable. He moved out of the Peach Blossom Pond to drink the wine with Li Bai, and told Li Bai with a smile: "Peach Blossoms are famous for their ponds, but there are no peach blossoms in them. Wanjia, the hotel owner surnamed Wan, not Wanjia Hotel. "

Li Bai didn't expect that he was fooled. Instead, he was moved by Wang Lun's kindness. It happened when peach trees and plum trees were in bloom. In the spring wind, there were mountains everywhere, and the pool was dark blue and crystal clear, reflecting green hills. Wang Lun kept Li Bai for a few days, entertained him with wine every day, and sent eight famous horses and ten official brocade at other times.

Li Bai took a boat to Guduwan Village in Dongyuan and took the dry road to Lushan Mountain. Wang Lun gave Li Bai a farewell dinner at Gu 'an Pavilion, applauded and sang the folk song "Treading" and gave him two jars of wine. Deeply grateful for Wang Lun's kindness, Li Bai wrote a poem "To Wang Lun".
