What animals and plants are there in Xishuangbanna?

At present, there are 429 species of birds, accounting for 2/3 of the total number of birds in China and 67 species of mammals, accounting for 16% of the total number of mammals in China. There are many kinds of birds and animals in Xishuangbanna, which are incomparable to other places in China. Among them, Asian elephants, vultures, Indochina tigers and leopards are listed as world-class protected animals. Bison, antelope, lazy monkey and other national first-class protected animals 13 species, there are many second-and third-class protected animals.

As a "flagship species", Asian elephants are of great significance to the ecological environment. 1977, China declared the Asian elephant an endangered species, and established a wild elephant nature reserve in Xishuangbanna.
