Mystery of site selection of Qing Dongling

Qing Dongling Mausoleum is located 30km northwest of zunhua city, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, and125km west of Beijing, covering an area of 80km2. The Qing Dongling Mausoleum was built from 166 1 (18th year of Shunzhi), which lasted for 247 years, and 2 17 palace archways were built successively, forming 15 cemeteries.

It is125km long and 20km wide from north to south. There are five emperors, 15 queens, 136 concubines, three brothers and two princesses buried in the mausoleum. It is the royal mausoleum complex with the largest existing scale, the most complete system and the most reasonable layout in China. This mausoleum in the East of Qing Dynasty is the first royal mausoleum group after the Qing Dynasty entered the customs. There are many opinions about his position, some say it is close to the royal hunting ground, which is convenient for the emperor to go in and out.

What's more, it's because the geomantic omen here is better and has aura, which attracts the real dragon emperor. More interestingly, it is said that the Qing Dongling was ceded by the Ming emperor. According to the records in the Draft of Qing History, Dongling in Qing Dynasty was chosen by the emperor shunzhi by accident. However, the historical truth is that Changrui Mountain, where the Qing Dongling is located, was visited not only by the emperor shunzhi, but also by Cheng Zu and Judy of the Ming Dynasty.

However, after Judy saw it, he left. Choose another place. This led to the saying that the Ming Dynasty gave way to the mausoleum, and then there were two concessions. This is the time when the last emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Chongzhen, chose the mausoleum. Once again, I took a fancy to Changrui Mountain, a treasure trove of geomantic omen. Well, it didn't take long for Li Zicheng's peasant rebels to occupy Beijing, and Chongzhen hanged himself in Jingshan Park, another concession. However, in the historical materials of the Qing Dynasty, this period of history has never been mentioned, but it tells a legendary story about the location of Qing Dongling by Emperor A Qing.

Legend has it that after the emperor shunzhi died. When Kangxi built the underground palace, the auspicious time chosen by the geomancer was the place where the jade finger fell. After the emperor shunzhi's death, Emperor Kangxi built the emperor shunzhi's mausoleum Xiaoling Mausoleum in Changrui Mountain according to his father's wishes. Since then, Kangxi, Qianlong, Xianfeng and Tongzhi emperors have all built tombs here, and the Qing Dongling has become the largest and most complete imperial mausoleum group in the Qing Dynasty.
