1, alpaca management is not perfect

Alpaca is a special economic animal newly introduced from abroad. Alpacas imported from different regions have different characteristics in appearance, body size, coat color, life, survival and reproduction, and have different requirements for feeding management. However, there is little research and weak management in this field in China, which leads to stress reaction, emaciation, physical decline, frequently-occurring diseases and even a large number of deaths of alpacas after introduction.

2. Insufficient technical personnel.

Alpaca is a singleton, which breeds only once a year. The breeding cycle is relatively long, and various special situations will occur during the breeding process, which requires high skills and experience of breeders. However, the professional level of alpaca breeding technicians in China is not high, and embryo transfer technology needs to be developed, which is not conducive to the development of alpaca industry.

3. Small feeding range and low social cognition.

At present, alpacas in China are only raised in small areas in Shanxi, Xinjiang, Shandong and Beijing. Qifengshan Breeding Base in Yangqu County, Shanxi Province is the largest alpaca breeding base in China, but there are only over 700 alpacas.

Judging from the development history of the United States, Britain, Australia and other countries, China's alpaca industry still has great room for growth.
