Osmanthus fragrans is best placed in the southwest of the courtyard and is the most prosperous.
Osmanthus has good and bad meanings, and everyone has different opinions. Since the word "osmanthus" in the osmanthus tree is homophonic to "ghost", it is considered a very unlucky plant in the eyes of many people. The east side of the courtyard is where the main energy of the home is. If the sweet-scented osmanthus tree is planted in the east side of the courtyard, it means that there will be bad luck in the house all year round and there will be major disasters every year. Therefore, it is generally best to plant it in the southwest of the courtyard.
Osmanthus flowers should not be placed in the east of the living room. This place itself is the main energy of the home and symbolizes the fortune of the home. However, the homophone of osmanthus is "ghost", so from the Feng Shui point of view, if it is placed here, it will easily bring bad luck and is not good for Feng Shui. Almost every household in rural areas has a large yard. If there is no place to plant osmanthus trees in the yard, osmanthus trees can also be planted on both sides of the gate.
