Brief Introduction of Zhangye Heihe Wetland National Nature Reserve

Zhangye Heihe Wetland National Nature Reserve is located in the middle reaches of Heihe River, spanning Ganzhou, Linze and Gao Tai counties of Zhangye City, with a total length of 204 kilometers and a total area of 610.5 million mu, including 205,000 mu of core area, 0/0.85 million mu of buffer area and 225,000 mu of experimental area. Qilian Mountain National Nature Reserve in the south and Badain Jaran Desert in the north are located in the "bee waist" zone of Hexi Corridor, which is an important node of the nature reserve network in northwest China. It is a typical type of inland wetland and aquatic ecosystem in desert area, and it is very typical, rare, endangered and representative. It is a natural ecological nature reserve integrating ecological protection, scientific research and monitoring, resource management, eco-tourism, publicity and education, biodiversity protection and other functions. 123 Zhangye is located in the middle reaches of the Heihe River Basin, with a wetland area of 3160,000 mu (2 10420.42hm), accounting for 5.02% of the city's land area, and its ecological location is very important. These precious wetland resources are a natural barrier to contain the invasion of Badain Jaran Desert to the south and protect the ecological security of water conservation areas in Qilian Mountains, and also an important support for people's survival and reproduction, national defense research and border defense construction in Hexi. From 20 15 to 12, the international convention on wetlands listed Zhangye Heihe Wetland National Nature Reserve in the list of internationally important wetlands.
