Li Daoyuan was a minister in the Northern Wei Dynasty. He visited many places after he became an official. Wherever he went, he visited local places of interest, observed the topography of water flow, traced back to the source, read a lot of geographical works in his spare time, and gradually accumulated rich geographical knowledge.
Xu Xiake (1587— 164 1), whose real name is Hongzu and Zhenzhi, is a Xiake, Han nationality, from Jiangyin, Jiangsu. Geographers, explorers, travelers and writers in the late Ming Dynasty, mainly geographers.
Li Daoyuan (about 470-527) is good at writing. Han nationality, Fanyang Zhuozhou (now Zhuozhou, Hebei Province). Northern Wei geographer and essayist.
