Why is there the Qing Dongling?
Dongling in Qing Dynasty was located in Changrui Mountain, Malanyu, Zunhua County, east of Beijing 125km. It is a large-scale and relatively complete tomb system of ancient emperors and empresses. Legend has it that Shunzhi came here to hunt before his death, and when he saw the lush mountains, he took off the board finger used to shoot the royal string and threw it into the air, saying to the courtiers: The place where the board finger fell must be a good cave, which can be used as my hall of eternal life. Since then, this mountain has been listed as a treasure trove of geomantic omen. Five emperors were buried, 14 queen, 136 concubines. Among them, Qianlong and Cixi's Yuling Mausoleum and Ding Dong Mausoleum are the most striking. Yuling underground palace is a huge project, which is not only a treasure house of carving art, but also a solemn underground Buddhist temple. Ding Dong Mausoleum is more luxurious than all the tombs of emperors in Qing Dynasty. First, the buried treasure was worth 50 million taels of silver. Because of this, the treasures of the Qing tombs have attracted the involvement of many bandits. The most heinous case is the treasure theft case of warlord Sun Dianying in July, 1928. Sun Dianying entered the mausoleum in the name of beating bandits, blasted the King Kong wall and stole all the jewels in the tomb of Empress Dowager Cixi in Ding Dong Mausoleum. One of his brigade commanders, Han Dabao, blasted the entrance to Yuling and looted the treasures in the tomb. After the case was exposed, it caused a sensation at home and abroad, and Chinese people unanimously demanded that Sun Dianying, the first offender, be severely punished. As a result, Sun Dianying played a set of Jianghu tricks, not only saving himself, but also bailing out a master who robbed a tomb, and he has been at large. 1947 Sun Dianying was captured by the People's Liberation Army in the Battle of Tangyin, Henan Province, and died in prison.
