Suixi county has a long history, which can be traced back to the middle of Neolithic Age. In 355 BC, it belonged to the state of Chu, and then it was the border of Baiyue. In the thirty-third year of Qin Shihuang (2 14 BC), it belonged to Xiang County. At the end of Qin Dynasty and the beginning of Han Dynasty, Suixi and Leizhou Peninsula were places of South Vietnam.

Suixi County is located in the southwest of Guangdong Province, in the north-central part of Leizhou Peninsula. It spans from east longitude 109 40' to north latitude1025' to north latitude 2 1 00', bordering Lianjiang City in the north and Mazhang District in the east. The county is 75.75 kilometers long from east to west and 57 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 2 148.5 square kilometers. The county seat is 359 kilometers away from Guangzhou, the provincial capital, and 0/6 kilometers away from Zhanjiang/KLOC.
Suixi county is a platform terrain, high in the middle, low in the northeast, and flat on the other three sides. The flat land with an altitude of 20 ~ 45 meters accounts for 80%. The terrain changes little, it is wide and flat, slightly undulating, and the slope is generally below 5, which belongs to the low platform deposited in Quaternary shallow sea.
There are small sand shale hills in the northeast, with the elevation of Wusheling 135.5 meters and Matouling 89 meters. The central part fluctuates greatly, with a slope of 5 ~ 15 and an altitude of 60 ~ 233 meters. The highest Luogangling is 233 meters, followed by Chenglingling 184 meters and Bijialing 176 meters, belonging to basalt platform.
