Ladies and gentlemen, now we have entered the Forbidden City. This is the first courtyard of the Forbidden City. The first five white marble bridges appeared in front of us. They symbolize the five virtues, namely, benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom and faith, which means that the emperor combines beautiful qualities. Under Jinshui Bridge is Neijinshui River. After crossing the Jinshui Bridge, you arrive at Taihemen Square.
Next, please visit the Hall of Supreme Harmony, where the last emperor Puyi held the enthronement ceremony. The Hall of Supreme Harmony is the highest-ranking building in the Forbidden City. It is only used when the emperor holds a ceremony, symbolizing the supremacy of imperial power. The Hall of Supreme Harmony, commonly known as the Golden Hall, is an outstanding representative of the existing wooden halls in China.
The Hall of Supreme Harmony was built in A.D. 1420, then called Fengtian Hall, and later renamed the Forbidden City. After the emperor shunzhi ascended the throne in Qing Dynasty, he rebuilt three halls and changed the palace into the Hall of Supreme Harmony. The Hall of Supreme Harmony is 35 meters high, 64 meters long from east to west and 33 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of 2,377 square meters. It is eleven rooms wide and five rooms deep, which is the largest hall in the Forbidden City. Decorative painting is the highest grade of Jinlong Seal. The top of the hall is the highest-grade double-eaved roof, which shows "first" everywhere.
After seeing the Hall of Supreme Harmony, let's see the Hall of Supreme Harmony again. Zhonghe Hall is the place where the emperor waits for auspicious opportunity and takes a short rest before the ceremony.
This is the end of the explanation of the Forbidden City. Now please visit Zhonghe Hall and have a rest, but don't litter. We will meet in 10 minutes. Thank you.
