The Jiayuguan Great Wall is located in the southwest corner of Jiayuguan City. It is named after it was built at the foot of Jiayu Mountain. It is the western end of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty and was built in 1372.
Guancheng is trapezoidal in plan, covering an area of ??more than 33,500 square meters, with a total length of 733 meters and a height of 11.7 meters. The tower is symmetrical in the east and west, with three bays in width and corridors around it. The three-story resting top is 17 meters high and is majestic. There are turrets on the four corners of Guancheng, two stories high, shaped like a bunker. Looking from a distance from the Dengguan Tower, you can have a panoramic view of the scenery beyond the Great Wall.
It consists of three lines of defense: the inner city, the outer city, and the moat. They overlap and defend, forming a military defense system of one fire for five miles, one pier for ten miles, one fortress for thirty miles, and one city for one hundred miles. . Guancheng is dominated by the inner city, with a circumference of 6.4 million square meters, an area of ??25,000 square meters, and a city height of 10.7 meters. The inner city has two gates, the East and West. There is an urn city outside each of the two gates. There are also 14 arrow towers, watchtowers, turrets, attics and gate towers built on the inner city wall of Jiayuguan.
