What does Zhongguancun do?

Zhongguancun Science Park is a street for developing electronic products, which originated from "Zhongguancun Electronic Street" in the early 1980s. It is the first national high-tech industrial development zone, the first national independent innovation demonstration zone and the first national talent zone in China, and it is also the core park of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei high-tech industrial belt. Zhongguancun Science Park is the experimental field of institutional innovation in China, and is known as "Silicon Valley of China".

Since the Ming Dynasty, it has been a eunuch cemetery. Because eunuchs in Ming and Qing dynasties were called "middle officials", they were called "middle official graves". There is also a saying that from the Ming Dynasty, eunuchs built temples and old-age manors here, and because they were called "middle officials" at that time, they called it "middle official village".

Zhongguancun was officially named after liberation. After liberation, the China Academy of Sciences was built here, and it was renamed Zhongguancun at the suggestion of Mr. Chen Yuan, President of Beijing Normal University, because the word "official" was not pleasant to hear.

Results achieved:

As the first national high-tech industrial development zone in China, the economic development of Zhongguancun Science Park has maintained a growth rate of 30% in the past ten years.
