Lv Buwei: Jiang surnamed Lu, whose word is fearless, was born in Puyang, Wei (now hua county, Anyang City, Henan Province). At the end of the Warring States period, he was a businessman, politician and thinker of Wei, then the Prime Minister of Qin and the 23rd grandson of Jiang Ziya.
Lv Buwei used to be a big businessman in Yangzhai, and he was rich because of "selling cheaply and selling expensively". When he was doing business in Handan, Zhao, he met Qin Gongzi who was taken hostage in Zhao. He thought getting this man was a "rare treasure" and decided to help win this stranger back to Qin. He also gave it to his wife to win the stranger, sponsored his daughter, and brought the winner back to Qin. Mrs. Huayang suggested that An Guo establish Zi Chu as the heir and use five hundred gold to buy treasures for Mrs. Huayang. Thus began his career of political speculation. On the one hand, Lv Buwei used money to help different people and arrange their lives; On the other hand, he went to the state of Qin to lobby them to get the qualification to inherit the throne. During the reign of Xiang Wang in Qin Zhuang and a few years before Qin Wang ascended the throne, he made contributions to the reunification of Qin with the desire of "unifying the world". However, with the growth of the king of Qin, Lv Buwei realized that there would be a contradiction between relative power and kingship, so he made preparations in many aspects. Finally, in 238 BC (the ninth year of the reign of King Qin), when the coronation ceremony was held, an armed rebellion took place. In the process of tracing this matter, Qin discovered his relationship with him, removed Lu from his post as prime minister and ordered him to move to Shu. Lv Buwei saw the tide was gone and committed suicide.
I think Lv Buwei is a controversial figure, and it is difficult to make him clear even in one or two sentences. However, if we put Lv Buwei in the Warring States period when he lived, we will find that Lv Buwei was actually a person who contributed to the historical development of China. Throughout his life, there have been bright spots and dark sides, and there have been merits and demerits, but where he was buried has always been a mystery, which may need to be discovered by future generations.
