Will Luoyang rise as a provincial capital in the future?

1. The topography of Luoyang Basin has hindered the large-scale development of the city.

On the topographic map, a top candidate has been spared. The topography of Luoyang has a proper name called Luoyang Basin, surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the Luohe River passes through the city (so the geomantic omen is really good), which greatly limits the development scale of the urban area. The traditional development zone north of Luohe is almost impossible to expand, and it is full. It's a bit difficult to expand to Songxian County, Luanchuan County and Xin 'an County (the scenic spots are all great), and there is a Geely District in the north, but Geely is always a little lost across the Yellow River and Mangshan Mountain. Then the Luoyang New District south of Luohe and Yibin New District in the southeast can be regarded as satellite cities, but the development south of Luohe always gives people a feeling of lack of motivation.

In short, the traditional development area of Luoyang is full, and even if there is, it is difficult to have any big expansion. The developable satellite city is a bit overwhelmed by the division of Mangshan Luoshui and even the Yellow River. This situation is similar to the development of Gudelo. I wonder if it can be explained by "since ancient times"? Please give me your advice.

Second, the distribution of cultural relics in the main city limits the large-scale development of Luoyang.

Some interviewees quoted Xi 'an's example on this issue, and I also have some ideas of my own. Although I don't know much about Xi, I know a little about the distribution of historical sites in Luoyang. Luoyang does have many cultural relics in the urban area. Take a pile of chestnuts. Luoyang has six urban areas. In addition to Geely District, Xigong and jianxi district are both ancient cities of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty in the protection planning of Luoyang ancient city. At the same time, the foot of Xigong District is the most important part of the ancient city of Sui and Tang Dynasties. The old city is the Jinyuan ancient city in Li Fang District among the ancient cities of the Sui and Tang Dynasties in Luolong District (the current regional system is similar to that of 800 years ago), and there is a large-scale Han and Wei ancient city one kilometer east of Luoyang. I have been to Luoyang Museum many times, and once I observed the appearance of every cultural relic, such as the expansion of hotels, schools, wineries and the construction of buildings. There are many names, which look interesting.

In short, although Xi also has a large number of underground cultural relics, Luoyang may have its special market conditions in terms of distribution. Compared with other cities, historical sites may be more distributed under Luoyang urban area and developed areas, which limits further large-scale engineering construction in these areas.

However, as a Luoyang person, I feel quite sad about some practices in Zhengzhou. Shaolin Temple in Dengfeng used to belong to Luoyang, but was later excavated by Zhengzhou. There are several major projects. Anyway, a few years ago, there was a mayor in Luoyang who made great contributions to Luoyang. He built a whole Luolong District by himself.

In recent years, the development of road traffic in Luoyang is still possible. The high-speed rail in Luoyang New District and the fast-track from Luoyang to counties have been built one after another. All roads in the new area have been tunneled and overpasses have been built, and the Luoyang subway is also under construction. I hope the future development of Luoyang will be better and better.
