Feng Dan Gate in Daming Palace

Danfengmen is the south gate on the central axis of Daming Palace in Tang Dynasty, which is 200 meters long from east to west. Its length, quality and specifications are the highest in Sui and Tang Dynasties, which reflects the dignity and weather of its royal style. With its high regulation and large scale, it is the highest gate in the capital city, which is of great value to the archaeological research of Chang 'an City and the capital city of China in the Tang Dynasty, and is praised as "the first gate in the prosperous Tang Dynasty" by the cultural relics and archaeologists.

Danfengmen has been in use for more than 240 years, facing the Hanyuan Temple in the north, and there is an imperial road of more than 600 meters between them. Danfengmen was built in Longshuo in 662. When Daming Palace was built on a large scale, it was built on the south wall of Daming Palace, that is, the eastern section of Guo Wall in the north of Chang 'an. In the second year of Su Zongde (757), it was renamed "Mingfengmen" and later "Danfengmen". Since its completion, Danfeng Gate has become the main passage for the emperors of the Tang Dynasty to enter and leave Miyagi, with the highest specification among all the gates in Daming Palace. There is a tall gatehouse on the Fengdan Gate, which is an important place for the emperor of the Tang Dynasty to hold ceremonies such as enthronement, announcement of amnesty and reform of the Yuan Dynasty. Danfengmen site is located in the north of Qiangzi East Road, Xi City. When excavated in 2005, it was measured that the pier in Menke was 74.5 meters long in the east and 33 meters wide in the north and south. * * * Five-hole doorways are opened, each hole is 8.5 meters wide, and stone thresholds are set in the doorways, which is consistent with the "five doors open and ten doors open and close" recorded in historical books. On both sides of the pier, a 3.5-meter-wide and 54-meter-long horse track was built inside Miyagi for boarding the city.

20 10 10 danfengmen site protection exhibition project was officially completed and opened to the public. There are multimedia exhibitions of Daming Palace and Danfengmen on the first floor, the cultural relics exhibition area of Daming Palace on the east side of the second floor and the platform for visiting Danfengmen site on the west side.
