In 2003, Liming Town and Litang Town merged into Litang Town, which belongs to Binyang County.
On June 27, 2003, Nanning was revoked, Binyang County was placed under the jurisdiction of Nanning, and Litang Town still belonged to Binyang County.
Origin of the place name of Litang Town: It was named after being stationed at Litangwei. Legend has it that "Litangwei" was named after a man named Li built a pond.
