"Bailongtan is a treasure trove of geomantic omen, and the Imperial Palace is beside the pool." Bailongtan Scenic Area is located 20 kilometers northeast of Miyun County and 95 kilometers away from Beijing, with Miyun Reservoir in the west and Simatai, Gubeikou and Jinshanling Great Wall in the north. The scenic spot covers an area of 4 square kilometers, including Xiushui Lingshan and Dietan Waterfall. Su Shi, a great poet in the Northern Song Dynasty, once wrote a poem for this purpose, "The white dragon drinks the pool in the daytime and hangs the stone wall at the end."
Bailongtan is located in the canyon area of the north and south mountains, which is called Shipen Valley in ancient times, also known as Longtangou. Water falls from a cliff more than 20 meters high, and there are three ponds and three waterfalls, which are called three ponds and flowing jade. The water whirled down from the cliff along two waterspouts (ditches), rushed into a pool, turned several times in one pool, and then fell into the second pool. Bailongtan usually refers to a pool. The head pool is urn-shaped and more than three feet deep. Ertan is three feet deep, and the beach is in the west. The water overflowed the beach and flowed into the three beaches. There is a flat-topped pine tree on the cliff beside the pool, which leans out and covers the Bailongtan, like holding an umbrella for Tommy Tam. There is a boulder at the foot of the mountain on the south side of the pool, on which Kang Youwei inscribed "Fengshen". On the eight-character stones on both sides of the waterfall are Qianlong Imperial Pen: fly to the sacred land and then Lingtan.
