Canghai National Wetland Park is located along the Xijiang River in the Pearl River Basin. It belongs to the typical "Kutang-swamp-forest" composite wetland ecosystem in Guangxi urban area. It is an important inland wetland in southern China, one of the stopovers and wintering places for migratory birds, and an important part of Wuzhou urban ecosystem, with an important ecological position.
On June 20 15, the management committee of Wuzhou Canghai New District submitted an application for the construction of Guangxi Wuzhou Canghai National Wetland Park (pilot), and recently received the Notice of the State Forestry Administration on agreeing to carry out the pilot work of the National Wetland Park in Zhangbei 137 wetland in Hebei.
According to the Master Plan of Guangxi Wuzhou Canghai National Wetland Park (20 15-2022), Canghai National Wetland Park takes 10000 mu Canghai Lake as the theme of the park, covering an area of 722.84 hectares. It is planned to complete the pilot construction of five functional areas of the wetland park in five years, namely, protection and conservation area, restoration and reconstruction area, education and exhibition area and rational utilization area. After the completion of the pilot construction, Canghai National Wetland Park will become an important part of the ecological security barrier of Xijiang River Basin, which can effectively maintain the ecological balance and ecological security of Wuzhou City and even the whole Xijiang River Basin, promote the wetland protection in Wuzhou City, and enhance the diversified social service functions such as wetland ecological service and cultural tourism.
