In Wangbu Town, 15 kilometers north of Yingcheng, there is Wangfu Gang (also called Wangfugui). There is a Benggang River at the foot of Wangfu Gang. There is a hill that looks like a woman by the river. It welcomes the morning sun and looks at the moon at night. This is the legendary Wangfu Stone.
It is said that in ancient times there was a village here, and there was a young couple in the village. The husband was named Guozhong and the wife was named Xiuzhen. The couple respects and loves each other, the man works the fields and the woman weaves, they are diligent and live a happy life.
Who knew that something unexpected would happen? This year, a huge flood occurred in Yingde. Fields were flooded, houses collapsed, grains were lost, livestock died of plague, and the local government turned a blind eye to the lives and deaths of the victims. Regardless, countless victims have left their homes and fled to beg for food, creating a desolate scene.
One night, Guozhong said to his wife: "Xiuzhen, our family is in a difficult situation now. We can't sit back and wait for death. Why don't I go out to do some small business and make some money to support the family." Xiuzhen didn't want her husband to go out. He lowered his head and said nothing. Seeing that his wife did not express her position, Guozhong comforted her: "Don't worry, I will try to send it back to you if I make money. No matter whether I make money or not, I will definitely come back during the Mid-Autumn Festival three years later." Although Xiuzhen was not happy, she didn't No choice. The couple said goodbye with tears, and Xiuzhen sent her husband to the Benggang River.
As the days passed, Xiuzhen neither heard from her husband nor saw her husband send money home. Life was so hard! In the blink of an eye, it was the Mid-Autumn Festival of the third year. Xiuzhen went to the small hillock by the river every day to wait for her husband to come back. She waited until the Dragon Boat Festival of the coming year. Xiuzhen almost went crazy waiting.
One day, the sky suddenly became dark, lightning thundered, wind and rain came, heavy rain fell from the sky, and the floods surged. Xiuzhen was still standing on the hillock waiting for her husband. She was crying and shouting, her tears intertwined with the rain, and she refused to leave even when the roaring flood rushed in front of her. Just like that, Xiuzhen was swallowed by the huge waves.
After the rain, people found that Xiuzhen had turned into a stone man, still standing firmly on the hillock by the river. People were moved by the kind and loyal Xiuzhen, so they called this stone "Wangfu Stone". In Tangdun Village near Wangbu Street, there is a large lake covering an area of ??1,000 acres - Baodun Lake. There is a turtle-like island of about 50 acres in the lake called Baodun. Baodun has many names among the people. Beautiful legends and unsolvable mysteries add a mysterious color to Baodun, attracting many experts and scholars to explore its secrets.
Baodun Lake borders the front of Huangwu Village to the east, the horseshoe fields at the entrance of Liangwu to the north, the triangle fields of Laojie to the west, and the front of Tangdun Village to the south. It usually covers an area of ??1,000 acres. During the spring flood period, There are 1,500 acres, about 800 acres in dry season.
According to legend, in ancient times, the Sea Dragon King took several of his children north along the Pearl River to visit the beautiful scenery in various places. The two youngest daughters came to the Great Lakes and were so fascinated by the beautiful scenery here that they hid them secretly and never went back. From then on, they transformed into two beauties during the day to work for the people. There was no fire at that time, so the two girls got up early every day and went to the blacksmith shop in Dunzhong to light fires for each household, so that farmers could avoid the difficulty of being unable to light fires. The two of them also found a way to build a stone well about three bushels wide next to Gumi. Through the stone well, some cedar trees often flowed out to help the poor build houses, and some clothes and food were given to the poor to avoid the cold and famine in the winter. The well is still clearly visible. Thanks to the great help of the two girls, every family in Tangdun village has sufficient food and clothing, fertile farmland is spread all over Yanshan and Benggang, and many celebrities and people with lofty ideals have emerged.
The two dragon girls turned into girls and worked for the people. As time went by, they fell in love with a pair of young brothers who were working as blacksmiths in Baodun. This aroused the jealousy of the owner of the dyeing shop in Baodun. , they resorted to a bad plan, saying that the two girls were monsters, and if they wanted to keep her, they had to be branded with a branding iron to stay with them forever and become husband and wife. The passionate young man believed the dyeing boss's lies. One morning, they used a red-hot iron to brand the two girls with a stamp. The next day, the two girls were nowhere to be seen. When they walked out of the door, they saw two big carps with stamps on their bodies by the lake. The two young people woke up and left their hometown without being able to see their elders in their hometown. The dyeing boss wanted to catch the fish, but he also drowned it in the pond. The two burned-to-death dragon girls remained in the pond even though they could not be reincarnated, holding up the treasure pier under the water so that the lower ridge would not be submerged by the flood.
The mystery of the floating Baodun still cannot be solved.
According to Pan Qichun, a villager in Tangdun, Yingde suffered a severe flood in 1994. Almost all the houses in the village were flooded, and a 6-meter-high electric pole was submerged. However, when he punted to Baodun, Baodun was still floating on the water. , and picked up half a basket of duck eggs in the pier.
To commemorate the two dragon girls, the villagers of Tangdun made two stone figures and placed them in Baodun as early as the Ming Dynasty for future generations to commemorate. This lake is also called Baodun Lake. Legend has it that in ancient times, Mount Yan was surrounded by mountains, with beautiful mountains and clear waters. There were many mountain springs that irrigated farmland, and droughts and floods prevented water conservation every year. It was the main grain-producing area of ??Wangbu, and farmers lived a life of ample food and clothing. Rich people from other places came here to buy fields one after another when they saw this geomantic treasure. There were fewer and fewer local farmers. They rented the land from the landlords, and the rent was getting higher year by year. After a year of hard work, there was little left except to pay the rent. . One year during the Mid-Autumn Festival, Kongming lanterns were put out according to local custom. Due to the high wind and dry weather, the towering trees hung up the Kongming lanterns, causing a mountain fire that burned for two days and two nights. Almost the entire mountains and forests of Yanshan, Guanping, and Qingshi were burned down. After the fire, the hills everywhere became bare. During the spring plowing of the next year, the flow of most of the mountain springs in the nine caves of Yanshan was reduced. The underground spring water turned into dry rock and could not be cultivated. Although some were sown, there was no mountain spring water for irrigation. The competition for water for irrigation resulted in many armed fights, causing discord between villages and between people. One year there was a dispute over water, and finally representatives of each family name came to file a lawsuit. The government sent people to inspect the case on the spot. They believed that the matter was essentially a conflict caused by insufficient water resources, and suggested that they send squires to discuss ways to solve the problem. Therefore, in the forty-seventh year of Qianlong's reign, the people of the Jiudong and Jiu surnames, after several During the discussion and internship inspection, everyone fully consulted and agreed that Pusi Rock Spring is the lifeline of human beings. It is bounded by a slide straight from the mountain and a straight rock bridge on the right. The left and right sides of the scene are marked by public names (protection) The land has been permanently closed, and no hoeing or mulberry planting is allowed to prevent sand from clogging it. The original Qiu surname who destroyed Shuiyuan Mountain must be held accountable. Representatives of the nine surnames unanimously agreed to erect a monument to educate future generations and ban it for eternity. This is the legend of eternity ban.
During the Great Leap Forward and the Great Iron Smelting, the commune sent people with instructions to cut down this large tree for iron smelting. The cadres of Jiudong Village immediately discussed how to protect this virgin forest and gave the order to cut down the trees. The leaders took it to Pusiyan and pretended not to know the words and asked them to help check it. After seeing this "forbidden for eternity" stone tablet, these people left quietly and never said anything about cutting down the tree again.
In the early days of reform and opening up, individual leaders of the town forestry station, also considering the interests of the forestry station, asked to cut down trees and proposed a plan to renew the virgin forest. When they came to Fuwu, several old people accompanied the forestry station. The leader of the station once again went to the stone tablet to ask about the meaning and content of "eternal ban". The comrades at the forestry station had no choice but to abandon the plan to cut down the trees and told the villagers to conscientiously do a good job in protecting them.
After the Sixth Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China put forward the requirement to build a harmonious society, the villagers of Jiudong set the goal of building green mountains, green waters, beautiful happiness.
