3. Characteristics
Tiger grouper belongs to a wide variety of freshwater fish, and its suitable growth temperature is 1 ~ 40℃, and it has the habit of feeding and growing all the year round. Its pH value adapts to 6.5 ~ 8.5, and it shows high adaptability and endurance when oxygen drops to 3.8 mg/L.
Under natural conditions, Epinephelus hujinensis mainly feeds on small fish, shrimp and aquatic invertebrates. Larvae with a body length of 2.5 ~ 3.0 cm mainly feed on zooplankton such as rotifers, cladocera and copepods, and feed on zooplankton in large quantities when they are 5 ~ 8 cm, and then turn to benthos after 8 cm; Epinephelus hujinensis can be domesticated and fed with artificial compound feed.
