The historical charm of Berlin town

Tracing back to history, Berlin Town was inhabited by humans as early as the Neolithic Age, and it was your territory before the Spring and Autumn Period. Ziguo is an ancient country formed in the Xia Dynasty.

During the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, the country was strong. The allies who had participated in Zhou Wuwang wiped out the Shang Dynasty, and later threatened Jingchu. In the spring and autumn period, it was destroyed by the state of Chu and was silent in the world.

During the Three Kingdoms period, wars were raging, and the famous Guan Yu once passed by here. So later generations built a temple next to two cypress trees where Guan Gong used to tie his horse to rest, called Berlin Temple. There is a tall and majestic statue of Guan Di in the temple to show his loyalty. It is a great pity that the Berlin Temple, which bears the long history of Berlin, was destroyed, the statue of Guan Di was demolished, and the remaining "Houdian" was destroyed by the "Four Old Men" and the Cultural Revolution and transformed into a school. At that time, two thousand-year-old cypresses were left, which were huge and only six or seven adults could hold one. It is a pity that these two thousand-year-old cypress trees were eventually cut into ten thousand sections and made into ordinary doors, windows, tables and chairs, which is regrettable.

In the sixth year of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1633), Li Zicheng, the leader of the peasant uprising army, led his troops to cross the river from the south of Shaanxi, and joined forces with Zhang in the "Double Heroes' Meeting" in Laoying, which was once an important arms warehouse of Li Zicheng troops, hence the name "Laoyingcang".

According to legend, when Zhenwu Emperor passed by Laoyingcang before going to Wudang Mountain, he saw this treasure land of geomantic omen, lush pines and cypresses, clear mountain springs, beautiful birds and flowers, and pleasant scenery, so he stayed on a mountain in China and devoted himself to cultivation. One day, Zhenwu practiced martial arts while riding his beloved white horse to explore the deep mountains. Unexpectedly, a tiger in Lu Yu was frightened and almost fell down the mountain. Zhenwu jumped off the white horse, killed the tiger and threw it into the ravine. The white horse was frightened and stimulated, and soon died on the mountain. This mountain is called baimashan by later generations, and the gully at the foot of the mountain is called Huweigou. After the death of Baima, Zhenwu was heartbroken and unwilling to practice here. After several twists and turns, he went to Wudang Mountain, and finally made a positive result, leaving a legend through the ages. Later, people built a temple in the place where the white horse was buried, named "Wuxian Temple", which is still very popular today. Standing on the top of Baima Mountain, you can overlook the whole city of Berlin.

1946, Li Xiannian led 60,000 officers and men of the Central Plains Military Region to break through from Hubei and Henan base areas to southern Shaanxi. After passing through the northwest of Hubei, the troops fought bloody battles with the enemy all the way, and finally deus ex, in which the old soldiers in Yingcang died gloriously.

After liberation, the old warehouse was renamed Berlin, which is still in use today.

At that time, Laoyingcang, located at the junction of Hubei, Henan and Shaanxi, was a place where people lived together. According to the family and population size, there are six prominent surnames: Huang, Chen, Zhang, Liang, Ye and Yang, who live in Huangjiawan, Chenjiazhuang, Zhangjiawan, Liangjiawan, Yejiawan and Yanglangou in Berlin. Place names with surname characteristics like this are very common in Shiyan.

There are many relatives among the six surnames in Berlin. Judging from the family size, population, influence and penetration rate, Huang is the first. According to Berlin's Huang Family Tree (1957 edition), Huang Fu, the ancestor of Huang surname, has several words, which originated from Huang Gu, the son of Song Dynasty. Yan Wei, a rich man, is the seventh generation grandson of Huang Gu. The Yellow Valley is Huang Tingjian (1045-1kloc-0/05), whose real name is Lu Zhi, a Taoist in the valley, and Fu Weng. He was a national history editor and magistrate, and was demoted twice. As famous as Su Shi, he is called "Su Huang" in the world. His poems pay attention to rhetoric and sentence-making, and pursue extremely hard style, which has great influence in the Northern Song Dynasty. He is also good at writing words, swearing, taking advantage of the danger and gaining the upper hand, and has a unique style, so he is one of the "Song Sijia".

Huang has written ten family instructions, which include filial piety, ploughing, reading, diligence, forbearance, modesty, virtue, conduct, shame and respect. The reason why the Huang family in Berlin can prosper is that they have never forgotten the teachings of their ancestors for generations and consciously abide by the top ten family precepts. The Huang family pays attention to diligence, patience, modesty and conduct. Therefore, in the late Qing Dynasty, they once created the prosperity of the old warehouse business and founded famous firms such as "Samsung Harmony" and "Hua San Qian", whose influence and popularity spread to Hubei, Henan, Sichuan and Shaanxi. There are also rich children like "Huang Sanniangzi". According to research, there is a street paved with bluestone strips in Yunxian Old Street, and half of the street was donated by it.

Today, earth-shaking changes have taken place in Berlin, with the Hunan-Chongqing Railway passing through the city, the Laobai Highway running through the town, the rapid development of township economy, the gradual improvement of residents' living standards, and the old warehouses glowing with new vitality.
