Who is the ancestor of Wanshan Mountain, Kunlun Mountain and Karakorum Mountain?

Many people will confuse these two mountains and think that they are actually one mountain, just two different names. Actually, it's not like this at all. Karakorum Mountain and Kunlun Mountain are originally two unrelated mountains, and there is no direct connection between them. The differences between Karakorum Mountain and Kunlun Mountain are as follows:

First, the location is different.

Kunlun Mountain was called Kunlun Ruins and Kunlun Mountain in the Ancient Classic of Mountains and Seas. It is the first of many sacred mountains in China. It is said that the Queen Mother of the West lives in Kunlun Market. In ancient times when science was extremely underdeveloped, people thought that the Kunlun market was the edge of the world, and if we went west, there would be nothing. Kunlun Mountain starts from Pamir Plateau in the west, crosses the border between Tibet and Xinjiang, and reaches Qinghai Province in the east, with a total length of 2,500km and a width of130km-200km, with a total area of 500,000km2. Kunlun Mountain is the longest mountain range in Asia, a little longer than Himalayas, and the easternmost point has reached Hengduan Mountain range in western Sichuan. Kunlun Mountain is bordered by Taklimakan Desert, Tarim Desert and Qaidam Desert in the north and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Desert in the south. It is a huge east-west mountain range, and most of Kunlun Mountain is located in China.

Karakorum Mountain is further northwest than Kunlun Mountain. It is the boundary mountain between Tibet, Xinjiang and Kashmir, running northwest and southeast, close to India and northern Pakistan, where both Xinjiang and Tibet are located. Karakorum Mountain starts from eastern Afghanistan in the northwest and extends 480 kilometers to the southeast, with an average width of about 240 kilometers. The mountain range is 800 kilometers long with an average elevation of more than 5,500 meters. The main body of Karakorum Mountain is located at the intersection of Xinjiang and Kashmir in China, and extends eastward to Bangong Mountain in northeastern Tibet. It was also called Green Ridge in ancient China. There are 400 kilometers of Karakorum Mountain on the border of China, and the rest are in Kashmir controlled by Afghan, Indian and Pakistani. Customarily, it can also be understood as the boundary mountain between China and Pakistan.

Second, names have different meanings.

The word "Kunlun" has been endowed with many extended meanings in China! Relating to religion, especially Taoism. It can be said that no mountain in China is more mysterious and sublime than Kunlun Mountain. Kunlun is "the capital under the emperor", "the land of all gods" and "the land on earth". Ancestors recorded in ancient documents, such as Fuxi, Huangdi, Lei Zu, Yao, Shun and Yu, are all related to Kunlun. "Kunlun" has always been a hot topic of humanistic discussion in past dynasties. The word "Kunlun" appeared in the pre-Qin period, and was later extended to a great geographical term and a very important symbolic cultural significance.

China ancient literati were enthusiastic about Kunlun, and many poems and songs mentioned and praised Kunlun. Qu Yuan wrote in The Songs of Chu Lisao: Kuaiwu is a doffer in Kunlun, and the road flows around Xiu Yuan. Tang Hanyu's Miscellaneous Poems: Kunlun is taller than Wan Li and is 20 years old, which is a bitter experience. Zhang's "He Xinlang sent Hu Bangheng to wait for the ambassador": The lowest thing is Kunlun, and the chaos of Jiuyin? Tan Sitong, one of the six gentlemen in the Reform Movement of 1898, wrote, "I laugh at heaven with a horizontal knife and leave two Kunlun mountains in my heart." Even the great leader Chairman Mao wrote a poem praising Kunlun Mountain. The first sentence of his "Niannujiao Kunlun" is: I was born, and I read all the spring scenery in the world. 1947, when staying in northern Shaanxi to deal with the enemy, the central organs and security forces were also named "Kunlun Column". 1988, Bayi Film Studio also filmed a war film called Wei Kunlun.

The word "Karakorum" comes from Turkic, which means "black rock", and is interpreted as "Heihe" or "Heishui" in Mongolian, which means "Heishui Mountain" or "Heishui Mountain". As can be seen from the pronunciation, "Kara" is transliterated directly from the languages of other nationalities. It doesn't make much sense. In Turkic and Mongolian, "Karakorum Mountain" refers to a mountain with black rocks. Literally, Karakorum Mountain is far less profound and long-standing than Kunlun Mountain, and has a strong historical and humanistic atmosphere. "Karakorum" is just a translated mountain name, and Kunlun has gone far beyond its literal meaning.

Third, the two mountains are quite different in length, width, height and scale.

Kunlun Mountain stretches for 2,500 kilometers, which is the longest mountain range in China and Asia. Most of the Kunlun Mountains are located in China, with an average width of about 170km and a height of about 5500m-6000m. It winds eastward from Pamirs to Xinjiang, Tibet, Qinghai and Sichuan, which is magnificent. Kunlun Mountain is divided into three parts: west, middle and east. The highest peak is Gong Geer Peak, 7649 meters above sea level. The main peak of Kunlun Mountain is Jade Everest in the east, with an altitude of 6 178 meters, and Yu Xufeng in the distance. Although Kunlun Mountain is very long, the overall elevation is not too high, and the highest peak, Gong Geer Peak, is no more than 8,000 meters. The peaks over 7,000 meters are all on the Pamirs in the west, such as Gong Geer Peak, Jiubie Peak in Gong Geer, Mustag Mountain and so on. Most of these peaks are more than 7 kilometers. Most of the peaks in the Middle East are between five and six kilometers. In other words, the height of Kunlun Mountain decreases from west to east, and it has tended to be hilly at the junction of Qinghai and Sichuan.

On the other hand, the Karakorum Mountain stretches for more than 400 kilometers along the border between China and Xinjiang, but its peaks soar into the sky and the snow-capped mountains are spectacular. The Karakorum Mountain is also the second largest climbing site in the world besides the Himalayas, and the longest and largest glacier concentration area in the low latitudes of the world. There are four peaks over 8000 meters in the world, and the remaining 10 are all in the Himalayas. The average elevation of Karakorum Mountain is over 6000m, with 19 peaks exceeding 7260m and 8 peaks exceeding 7500m. The second highest mountain in the world-Gori Peak at an altitude of 86 1 1 m, is here, and it is the boundary peak between China and Pakistan.

There are many peaks in the Karakorum Mountains, one next to the other. These snow peaks have distinct characteristics, such as sharp, steep and large vertical drop. Most main peaks are surrounded by dozens or hundreds of peaks and stone pagodas. As far as climbing difficulty is concerned, Karakorum Mountain far exceeds Kunlun Mountain. It rises from the ground, towering into the sky, with snow-capped mountains and canyons, cliffs and a large number of glaciers. The horizontal valley is narrow, steep and deep. Because of its remote location and long route into the mountain, it is even more difficult. Karakorum Mountain is also the watershed of the Indus River and Tarim River. Seasonal and permanent glaciers and snow melt water from high-altitude peaks are the water sources of the two rivers.

Karakorum Mountain is located in the low latitude, and the mountain is magnificent, far exceeding Kunlun Mountain. There are snow peaks above 7 kilometers above sea level everywhere, and the huge glacier scale is crushing Kunlun Mountain. Above the snow line of 5000 meters, the peaks are densely covered. On the east side of the second highest mountain in the world, Jogory Peak at an altitude of 805 1 m, followed by Bloa Peak at an altitude of 8080 m 1 Gashurbloom Peak and 2 Gashurbloom Peak at an altitude of 8028 m.. There are 24 peaks over 7,000 meters, such as the Skyangkanli peak on the north side of Chogory Peak, with an altitude of 7,545 meters; Spander Peak on the west side, 7385 meters above sea level; Crown peak at an altitude of 7295 meters, etc. Therefore, the Karakorum Mountains have become the second mountaineering center in the world.

Fourth, the fame and popularity of the two mountains are different.

Compared with Karakorum Mountain, the fame, popularity and influence of Kunlun Mountain are obviously greater! Kunlun Mountain is known as the "ancestor of all mountains", the "ancestor" of all mountains in China and the hometown of all gods. Ancient China people thought that Kunlun Mountain was the "Long Mai ancestor" of China and the birthplace of China people. Li Bai's "If I hadn't seen Yushan for the first time, I would have met Yaotai Moon" refers to Kunlun Mountain. Many folklores, such as Nu Wa's refining stone to fill the sky, Jingwei's reclamation, the flat peach party of the Empress Dowager, the white snake woman stealing fairy grass, and the goddess the Goddess Chang'e flying to the moon, etc. They are all related to Kunlun Mountain, and even martial arts novels include Kunlun School, Kunlun Bodhisattva and Kunlun Decision. Kunlun Mountain is also the location of the legendary "Hell's Gate". The valley in the mountain is called "Death Valley", and there have been many phenomena that cannot be explained by science. Until the 1980 s, there were many unexplained supernatural phenomena, and the army was still guarding here.

Because Karakorum Mountain is located in the northwest border, it was a remote and wild place in ancient times, and there was no infiltration of modern civilization. In addition, the sky is high and the road is far, the road is rugged, the popularity is almost zero, and the reputation is even more casual. After the rise of mountaineering, it gained a certain popularity here, but compared with Kunlun Mountain, there is still a big gap.

In terms of climate, vegetation, animals and plants, and human environment, Karakorum Mountain is worse than Kunlun Mountain! It is a plateau and mountainous climate with almost no vegetation, except for bare black basalt, which is covered with white snow, and there are few animals and plants. However, Kunlun Mountain has a large span, typical climate distribution, lush vegetation in the east and middle parts, Qiangtang no man's land on the south slope, rich wildlife and plateau lakes formed by melting snow-capped mountains. Because it is far away from pollution, the air and natural environment are fresh and refined, and the lake is crystal clear, like a scattered sapphire embedded in the northern Tibet Plateau.

If it's tourism, of course it's Kunlun Mountain! If it is to challenge the mountains, or go to the Karakorum Mountains. As for the "ancestor of Wanshan", it must be Kunlun Mountain, and Karakorum Mountain does not have this qualification. In addition, Kunlun Mountain is one of the eight famous mountains in the world and two of the ten famous mountains in China. The majestic Kunlun Mountain, the lifeblood of China, the birthplace of the descendants of the Yellow Emperor, and the source of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River are all not available in Karakorum Mountain. But if mountaineers, teams and professional mountaineers climb to the top, they must choose Karakorum Mountain, because one third of the world's peaks are concentrated here.
