Yongqi tomb
Build a reservoir and dig out the tomb of the Prince of Qing Dynasty
Sixty-two years ago, a great event happened in Miyun District, China. During the construction of Miyun Reservoir, the tomb of a prince of the Qing Dynasty was excavated. The feng shui of this tomb is excellent, and the scenery under the underground palace is magnificent. There are many exquisite funerary objects left in the tomb, which shows that the identity of the owner of the tomb must be extremely noble. Later, after urgent research and investigation by many scholars, people finally learned the true identity of the tomb owner. It turns out that this is the famous "Mausoleum of the Prince", in which three sons of Emperor Qianlong are buried, namely, the eldest son Yong Huang, the third son Zhang Yonghe and the fifth son Yong Qi.

After further investigation, scholars were pleasantly surprised to find that although the red wall outside the "Prince Mausoleum" was damaged to a certain extent, the interior was intact and there was no trace of theft, so archaeologists immediately conducted a rescue excavation of the ancient tomb. When people opened the tomb of May 7th, they found that not only precious treasures were scattered everywhere in the tomb, but also one of the cultural relics had the word "Rong" inscribed by Emperor Qianlong himself. It can be seen from this word that May Yongqi must enjoy an extraordinary position in the Qing Dynasty.

The extraordinary significance of the word "Rong"
According to historical records, in the thirty years of Qianlong, Mei Yongqi, 24, was made a prince by Emperor Qianlong, and "Rong" was his title at that time. People familiar with history of qing dynasty must know that the word "Rong" is a noble word in Qing Dynasty, which means "Rong" and "Gao" in Manchu, but only two princes in Qing Dynasty have won such titles, one is Yong Qi, and the other is the prince born to the emperor shunzhi and Dong E Fei. At that time, the emperor shunzhi had a deep love for Dong E Fei, and he wanted their son who died young to be a prince. But in the end, he was defeated by the public, so he had to settle for the second best and named his son "Heshuo Rong Wang Qin".

Later, when Emperor Qianlong drew up the title for Yongqi in May, he must have known the unusual meaning of the word "Rong", but Qianlong insisted on naming Yongqi as "Rong", which shows that he had high hopes for this son. Now, the word "Rong" appears again in the funerary objects in the tomb of May Elder Brother, further confirming the important position of this person in the royal family of Qing Dynasty. Moreover, it is worth noting that Yongqi was also the first prince to obtain the status of "Prince" during the Qianlong period, and its status is needless to say.

And what is the real Yongqi in history? Why did he die in a hurry at the age of 25? When Yongqi was born, his biological mother Yu Fei was not favored in the harem, but he was smart and proficient in Wen Tao and martial arts since childhood, so he was favored by his father Gan Long. When he was 22 years old, he and Gan Long went to Yuanmingyuan for the summer. As a result, a fire broke out in the garden. Fortunately, he personally rushed into the fire and saved his father Gan Long, avoiding bad luck. Since then, Emperor Qianlong has paid more attention to him and often praised him for his "filial piety".

According to this honor, Yongqi could have become a strong candidate for the throne, but no one expected that he died young at the age of 25. May Yongqi is very good at riding and shooting. She doesn't care about her status as a prince. She often sleeps outside and goes riding and hunting. Over time, I contracted "gangrene attached to bone". Although it is not a terminal disease, it is extremely difficult to cure, and the pain after the onset is unbearable. In Yongqi, the illness was more serious, and he died unfortunately shortly after the onset. After Yongqi's death in May, Qianlong was very sad, and ordered the word "pure" and the meaning of "pure" to be his posthumous title to express his grief.

Chu Jun is very satisfied with the candidate of Ganlong.
For hundreds of years, it has been rumored that Yongqi, who died young, is the first choice, and the word "Rong" in Yongqi's tomb 62 years ago just verified this rumor. Moreover, according to the Qing History, more than 20 years after Yongqi's death, Qianlong once told the British envoys about his many sons, and bluntly pointed out that he originally wanted to spread to Yongqi in Rong, but Yongqi died early. It can be seen that Yongqi was indeed a satisfactory candidate for Chu Jun in Qianlong's heart, but unfortunately she died young and finally missed the throne. To this day, many people still feel a little sorry for this, and some even wonder whether Yongqi will rewrite the history of the Qing Dynasty if she can recover from illness and inherit the throne.
