Feng Yue, adapted from Ye's novel Flower Shadow, is a literary film directed by Chen Kaige and starring Gong Li.
The film expresses the reflection on human nature by telling the love tragedy of an ancient family in a small town in the south of the Yangtze River during the Republic of China. The film was released in Hong Kong on 9 May, 1996.
